Morey strikes gold in the draft again! Got us a stud stretch big in the 2nd round to go along with the stud athletic beast of a center in last year's 2nd round!! The future is bright!!!

Why does he have LOSER tattooed on his head?

That is serious motivation right there. He is committed to prove everyone that said he would not make it, called him a loser wrong. Yikes......just speculation on my part and could easily be a henna tat.

Great pass

That was a crap pass. He wasn't even aiming for the guy who got the ball. He was looking to hit the big. The pass was so bad and weak that another teammates made a heads up play and snared the bad pass and took it.

???

He was clearly looking to hit 54 on that back door cut.

When I watched it, to me he's trying to hit the other big and because he was a bit off balance and had not set his base, his pass didn't have enough strength. Maybe I am wrong, but his eyes appears to be seeing the big across the court, not 54.

::EDIT:: Even 54 had no idea what Yang planned to do. So it was not a planned backdoor pass.

I read it the opposite actually - he was always looking backdoor & 54 was just late in recognizing the opening, but they were still able to connect on the play.

I could see that interpretation, I just not sure he did. His eyes at first are on the far guy as far as I could tell. But your version is just as likely as mine.

Kon Kneuppel is still playing in summer league against Devin Carter, Nique Clifford and the Kings.

Dylan Harper has been a bit underwhelming for me, both statistically and on the eye test. His shot looks flat, his off hand is shaky, and he moves slow in the halfcourt, lacking the burst or vertical.

Kon certainly lived up to being the kind of player that winning teams covet in the summer league, didn't he? Great court vision, knows how to move off ball, the ability to finish in various ways, and that pure shooting stroke. It's only SL, but the kid's a winner, period.

And so it starts. New Orleans moves closer and closer to giving up that unprotected lottery pick next year.

Ewwww, that fake pocket pass to the crossover to get space at 0:58

Stuffed the stat-sheet all summer league. Rebounding, passing, steals.

Super happy with VJ, but it's bewildering to me that people acted like this player wasn't obviously incredible.

Feel the same way - love VJ and think the sky's the limit for him, but the idea that this kid's game wouldn't translate was patently absurd.

Kon suffered from some of the most anti visuals bias I've ever seen in a draft prospect. Lack of aura + supercuts trims taxed his upside heavily to the casual eye. A lot of us realized early on though that he was a special player.

Kon & VJ though are both inherently players that will contribute in high leverage situations with and without the ball and to me that made them a more valuable archetype to someone like Tre who brings very little outside of points.

I had them in the same tier as Harper, so can't go wrong really.
