I'm convinced that Summer League refs are just Las Vegas tourists who were handed a voucher on the strip that allowed them to choose between a free meal, a magic show, or officiating a summer league game.

Is this the first thing the Charlotte Hornets have ever won? Pretty sure it is yay!

I'll be happy when Kon rediscovers his rhythm at the free throw line. I refuse to believe he's a 70% free throw shooter.

it was kj's trophy to lose, but, rough 2nd half from him. i thought kj had it tho.

You could just see it in Kon's eyes that he Was surprised to be Tournament MVP. He thought it should have gone to KJ.

Culture builders are proving their value on the court. Don't let the looks fool you we got some ballers.

SL champs MF'ers! 8-)

Something to build on. Would've like to see more of Liam, Sion, and Tidjane, but at least we saw Kon knows how to play. Kalkbrenner looks like a serviceable big, but he's not the answer. Center still sticks out like a sore thumb.

Anyone enjoy hearing Charles Lee’s incessant jabbering during his in-game interview? I know he’s going to drop his bucket of catch phrases every time, but the stream of consciousness that poured was just grating to me. Something about the timber of his voice, the tenor droning….was glad they had to cut to commercial.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

him not being involved compared to last summer league or the big boy team was probably the biggest catalyst for why the team looked like they knew how to play basketball

lol the commentators were clowning him. He went over time on his interview and got interrupted by commercial. They came back and said he was “thoroughly answering questions” meanwhile it was just him regurgitating the continuous improvement, competitive, high basketball IQ buzzword BS.

Just once I’d love to hear him actually speak without the veil of all the corporate synergy over it. Like how does he talk to his wife or his hometown friends? Does he know how to turn this off?

Don’t think he played like ****. Honestly reminded me of a vintage Game 7. Legs are tired, shots aren’t falling, it’s a physical dogfight. Of course he didn’t shoot it as efficiently as we’d like, but that’s just how the game was flowing for everyone. He still made the most important shot of the night and made a ton of important plays.

Kon was obviously tired and banged up for the deciding game but didn't let that stop him from nailing the game winner. Not too shabby, SL Champs!

I was thinking to myself this morning is it a more fun ring to win than the in-season tournament?

Probably. At least for me, but maybe that's because the Hornets have never been good in SL and the last two years have been so refreshing. I doubt I'd care that much about IST.

Sad, but true.

I wish this guy would run more plays. It seems he just lets Melo freestyle and make things happen. At least Clifford ran some set plays for Miller.

Thinking about this more, I'm wondering which I'd prefer: A. For the most part this is who he is, how he talks, and how he sees the world and sports. Or, this is an act and he's portraying a character he thinks he should be as a coach of a team.

You're right, it's grating, but it's more offputting imo, if he isn't like this at all in his personal life. Don't get me wrong, I understand everyone spruces up their speech and presentation when in corporate and professional settings, but I hope he isn't a total 180 from this off the court.

Man I know it was only SL but it was just really nice to see our team at the top of something being celebrated. I think it shows the culture really is turning and heading in a positive direction. Now please go get us a C and PF

Yall think Lee is not involved in summer league?

What a random ass time to try to throw daggers at him.

Love seeing the talent aggregation and philosophy from this team, very encouraging.

Odd comment

Over the two summer leagues that he coached Last Summer the team went 7 - 1. And that one loss was only by a couple of points when we sat pretty much everyone. So that's a weird reason to try to dunk on him.

I'm all for Coach Lee criticism when it's fair.
