So I did end up meeting a friend in the south Sound for a paddle today. Boston Marina to Hope Island. Highly recommended. Due to tide timing and us wanting to wait until the day warmed up we battled the heaviest current on the way out with some guidance from the folks at the marina. Wasn't a bluebird day but we did get some views of the Olympics and Rainier.

Not too bad. The marina folks gave us the best route around the intense parts. My boat got turned around a few times but otherwise we made good time. They also have a full fried seafood menu several fridges full of great beers.
Definitely won't be my last rodeo in the south Sound.

Guano - we were just talking about this:
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/mountain-lion-bites-4-year-old-olympic-national-park-washington-state/
This is what I'm talking about with cats. All these people commenting like "the people are in its home." Mfer, they weren't at its den. This is its home like Pikes Market in Seattle is your home or the Pearl District in Portland is mine. This is an out and around town attempted murder where the cat just didn't like the looks of the kid's face or his lousy attitude and said "this is worth my life."
Omg. Fishing is something I need to get into on the back 9 of my life.
Inquiring minds want to know how your summer is going.

I use to fish more when I lived on the Eastside of Wa. We would catch trout in alpine lakes then prepare em and cook em right on a fire. Tbh, the fishing felt like cheating. We could see the fish the water was so clear. We had a favorite lake and spot. A creak from a glacier fed the lake and the fish would always be there. Drop a line right in front of the fish and eat. Some of my fondest memories of my youth.

Fighting a cougar off your kid is impressive.
Hurricane Ridge is one of the most populated hikes in the Olympics and this @sshole cat decides its good hunting grounds for kids. No bear is doing that sht. But a cat, decides its going to dine on a toddler.
The reason I carry bear spray isnt for bears its for cats. Though my friend sent me a video a few years back of this guy bushwhacking and a cougar runs by him in the blink of an eye. It was impressive and terrifying. It made me realize that if a cougar wants to kill me ill be dead before I have time to season myself with bear spray.

Re: Hamsterdam (Ex-players, s***posts, beef, etc.) Continued
ESPN regraded the Randle and towns trade. Gave both of us a B+.
Regrades:
Minnesota: B+
New York: B+
It's tempting to put both teams in the A range after they reached the conference finals. But more than any of these deals, this one will take years to evaluate. For now, it is a win-win move.
The Timberwolves managed to improve their perimeter depth with DiVincenzo and reset financially. They'll pay DiVincenzo, Randle and No. 17 pick Joan Beringer a combined $47.1 million this season, less than Towns alone ($53.1 million). That difference allowed Minnesota to re-sign Naz Reid without pushing above the second apron this season.
Meanwhile, Towns filled an enormous void for the Knicks at center before shifting to power forward in the conference finals alongside a healthy Mitchell Robinson. Towns earned All-NBA third-team honors and helped the Knicks level up their offense. With New York focusing on a championship, Towns' defensive shortcomings are an issue, but that's a champagne problem for a franchise that hadn't reached the conference finals in a quarter century.

The Nets dealt Bridges at the peak of his value, and getting five first-round picks and a swap for a player who has never been an All-Star remains an enormous win. Two of Brooklyn's historic five first-round picks in this year's draft (used on Nolan Traore at No. 19 and Ben Saraf at No. 26) came from this trade, with several more to come.
Bridges rallied from an early shooting slump to post an impressive 57% effective field-goal percentage, which treats 3-pointers as 1.5 field goals to reflect their added value. At the defensive end, Bridges wasn't the difference-maker the Knicks surely hoped for, and he averaged just 15.6 points on 33% 3-point shooting during the playoffs.
On the plus side, Bridges' modest salary ($24.9 million this season) helped facilitate the Towns trade. And if adding Bridges helped convince former Villanova teammate Jalen Brunson to sign a below-market extension last summer, this deal was worth making for New York.
