That doesn't in any way refute what I said. I made no presumption what he would or wouldn't do. Just made a point cuz he got 14 million extra, in part because we were 3.5 points better w/out him on the court last yr. If he played d, went after boards/loose balls, & could play w/ other top options, I doubt they'd have waived him, regardless of the injury. They were already talking about trading him cuz it wasn't working out.

Wasn’t intending to refute your point, just pointing out Dame has a long history of being incredibly charitable in the communities he’s played for. Many of which situations are purposefully not made publicly known by his own request.

My point was simply, if you’re trying to say he should give back a lot because he was paid so much and didn’t live up to your expectations, he likely HAS been giving back to the Milwaukee community in ways you weren’t aware because that’s who he is.

I'm going to change the topic, keep it on Dame for $800. Is Dame a NBA top 75 player? I say no. I say to qualify you have to be at least average level on both offense and defense.

Where do you rank players like Dirk or Nash? 76?

Steph -- not worried, shooting

Durant -- riskiest pick but I think he fits well
Dirk -- not worried, shooting
Hakeem -- not worried, defense + basically everything

Giannis -- better than Dirk obv but I want that shooting, and G can come in for literally anyone

Mine was really close to this:

Steph
Jordan
Kawhi
Duncan
Hakeem

Pippen - can defend 4 positions and create

Bananas defense + Steph is not a bad approach.

That was kind of the plan. Some diminishing returns on offense, as only one dude can be handling/shooting at a time. All 5 guys are constantly defending on the other end. Also, need dudes okay in their role, as you point out. Need a clear alpha, but other guys able and willing to slide into that role when needed.

Pippen
Jordan
Durant
Rasheed Wallace
Giannis

Bench: Ersan

That’s a starting five with length that could switch on anything. Everyone was a good passer. Everyone can shoot except GA. You could play straight up and dare teams to shoot over you. You could trap from any of those guys. Jordan’s iso game was the best ever. I put Ersan on the bench in case someone is needed to take charges.

Can you guys definitively answer these Dame questions.

Does he lose $11.5 million in actual cash less than he was owed on his bucks deal. Or do the Bucks owe him the full $113 million left?

Does Dame get his Bucks money (whether $113 or $101.5) over the next two years or the next five years?

Do the Bucks get that $2.3 million end of season salary cap relief for only the next two years or the next five years?

Clippers adding Paul. They're going to be an interesting team to watch.

Clippers and Warriors having an all out battle to see who can put together the oldest team of all time. It’s all going to come down to Horford

The Clippers could be dysfunctional in the regular season w/ all those mouths to feed. In the postseason they're at best fringe contenders. Harden's in all likelihood gonna no-show, they'll be lucky to avoid key injuries at their age, & there are plenty of match-ups to exploit now.

The clippers situation is becoming ridiculous. Its like some kid is building a team in 2k and just grabbing all the recognizable names. They were good last year but im having trouble taking them seriously now. Why would you want that many personalities? They basically got rid of Norm Powell for nothing to sign Beal. Now they got a 41 year old PG with an ego who probably thinks hes smarter than the head coach.

They will probably coast to a great record based on depth. Meanwhile, none of their moves have raised their ceiling unless they believe in their home court advantage so much that they think getting the 1 seed raises their ceiling.

On the one hand, CP3 / Harden / Beal / Kawhi are all so injury prone that planning to have plenty of stretches with just 2 of them at a time during the regular season could keep them in enough shots to be happy.

On the other, having another injury prone guy in Bogdanovic makes it that much tougher to develop any consistency in the rotation.

Not sure how long Bogdan will be for LAC -- seems like that acquisition this past deadline was mostly about the future seconds and getting off the last year of Mann's deal anyways:

Clippers received: Bogdan Bogdanović, Three future second-round picks
Hawks received: Terance Mann, Bones Hyland

I just saw that Chicago signed Yuki Kawamura, and I didn't realize he was a free agent. Now I'm pissed that we didn't sign him. If anyone thinks he's something other than the most fun bench player in the league, I will fight you.

He was on their summer league team, I think they’ve had some control of him for a while. He’s pretty fun to watch but I’m not sure how that will translate against real nba players. He’s like 5 “8

Powell for Collins makes sense if you look at it in the vein that the don’t want Kawhi getting beat up at PF. Collins and Powell both provide the same thing. Effecient scoring, but with Powell, you’re almost always playing Kawhi as a 4 and with his history of getting beat up, you wanna avoid that. Plus, if they knew they could be getting Beal, which by all accounts they could have at least been confident in because the Suns seemed to make it clear Beal wouldn’t be back under any circumstances, you upgrade at PF and get at least a somewhat similar SG it makes sense as to why from a talent perspective.

And Chris Paul has generally helped teams where he’s been with his high IQ play and seemed to accept a bench role and a backseat trolemthe past few years.

And people are wondering why they do this if it barely raises the ceiling? I mean, it’s not like they have a plethora of other options. They’re already paying their big 3 Harden, Kawhi, and Zubac $100 million, they still owe draft picks to the Thunder, what else were they supposed to do exactly to upgrade? It’s not like they’re are these young players hitting FA that you can build around which they wouldn’t even have the cap to sign, they can’t get high quality prospects to draft and and develop, and even if they rebuild by trading away their veterans, they don’t control their own picks going forward, so a bad record does nothing for them. Seeing the position their in, yea, I don’t really see a different way forward than what they took.
