(Probably requires some stuff to work around BYC, pretend that's in there)

Sixers get a big young defensive PG to mix and match with Maxey/McCain and an elite defensive 4/5 capable of limited minutes/games.

The Magic continue their off-season makeover adding Grimes as a high end 3rd guard with the skill set to mic and match with what they have.

Feels like doubling down on Sixers archetypes (always injured bigs and guards who can't shoot)

Another injury prone defensive PF that can't shoot deal...

Oubre, Drummond for Jarred Vanderbilt

Lakers free up more cap space for next year while getting a solid bench wing.

Sixers get an impact defender/rebounder to put next to Embiid.

We never had Ace, so there's nothing to replace.

Sixers:
Jerami Grant
Donovan Clingan
Robert Williams

Tyrese Maxey/Jared McCain
Quentin Grimes/VJ
Paul George/Oubre
Jerami Grant/Watford/Walker
Donovan Clingan/Robert Williams

- Pacers type team where Grant and George plays the Siakam role, with rim protector bigs

Blazers:
Joel Embiid
Justin Edwards
Andre Drummond (back-up for Yang in 2025-2026)
Sixers 2027 1st round pick swap

Dame/Scoot
Jrue/Sharpe
Camara/Justin Edwards
Avdija
Embiid/Yang

- The Blazers can either treat 2025–2026 as a gap year or start laying the groundwork for a major push in 2026–2027 with a healthy Dame and Embiid. Alternatively, they could let Embiid sit out the entire season to fully recover and aim for a stronger run the following year.
- This is a low-risk, high-reward move for the Blazers, who have a strong youth core to hedge the Embiid-Lillard gamble for 2026–2027. They can use the 2025–2026 season to develop their young talent, keep them as a fallback option if the Lillard-Embiid pairing fails, or leverage them as trade chips (includes the 2027 Sixers pick swap) to move Embiid’s contract, which will have just 1–2 years remaining by then.

I’d be willing to give Bates a 2-way and see if he could turn it around here.

IMO that would be a beyond foolish move for the Blazers. They have a nice youth thing going right now and definitely need to dump Grant for more picks/youth and Williams to relieve the center glut. Bringing in a guy just starting a max deal who they have no idea will even be able to finish a season is once again Management Malpractice 101.

And to give up a young asset in Clingan at the same time? Pure insanity. They should move forward with Yang/Clingan and figure that out as they see how both kids continue to develop.

If there's anything Portland should have learned from OKC as a fellow small market franchise, it's to have patience and sell the building of a young core to a fan base very similar to that of OKC. Deviating the way you suggest would be a death knell. They should be looking at Lillard as a trade chip to a contender if he has anything left after his rehabilitation, but at his price keeping him around as a mentor wouldn't be the worst thing either.

Question.. how do you track all these trade proposals involving the Blazers?

I actually just did the trade proposal so that I can ask you this question.

POR politely declines this one as well. An optimist might seize the chance to add Embiid so cheaply.

It's kinda crazy how JRoy has mind - **** all of RealGM into thinking he's the actual GM of the Portland Trailblazers.

Like all proposals need to go through him.
