Not comparable to the BRK Net for two reasons:

1) They didn't trade tons of draft capital for this team. I guess you can trace Kawhi back to the PG/SGA trade and all that, but that's a reach. This version of the team was put together around Kawhi with a lower cost Harden trade and then really a bunch of lower cost signings.

2) Kawhi/Harden both still have more upside than any of that BRK squad ever did. I get their older but they both still show semblance of being a championship duo. No one on the BRK squad was ever that good (Dwill, Joe Johnson, Brook) or if they were it was well in the past (Pierce, KG).

I think they're doing an awesome job of just building it as best you can with limited flexibility.

Quite literally feels like the last shot I this Kawhi era but something about this team makes me feel like they're going to go on a deep playoff run.

James Harden / Chris Paul / Kris Dunn
Bradley Beal / Bogdan Bogdanovic / Cameron Christie / Kobe Sanders (2W)
Kawhi Leonard / Derrick Jones Jr. / Patrick Baldwin Jr. (2W)
John Collins / Nicolas Batum / Kobe Brown / Trentyn Flowers (2W)
Ivica Zubac / Brook Lopez / Yanic Konan Niederhauser

Lmfao! I never saw this clip from Harden talking CP3. “Happy to have the little midget back”.

Pressure? They are probably a top 5 team but nobody will pick them to win it all. And they are the oldest team in the league now and injury prone. It’s realistically as low pressure as it gets for how loaded up they are.

This is the deepest team in the league with multiple all-time greats on the roster. Leonard/Harden/CP3, and then an insane compliment of guys around them. Their bench unit is filled with starter quality guys. They should be expected to win it all, or lose a close series to the Thunder. There's no team outside the Thunder that should pose a thread.

And yet as always, Kawhi will probably miss 30-50 games like Beal. It’s near impossible to win a ring as a low seed. So IF that plays out they need to be a 1 or 2 seed 60 win team. I think sure if all are perfectly healthy they are #2 in the west but they are filled with injury prone guys.

Another good move - they could easily be a 55+ win. Like others have said, they’re not gonna win the chip, but they don’t own their own picks so why not put together a competitive team for the next two years. And then a load of cap space in summer 27 to go big game hunting again

I don’t think they need to be a top 2 seed. This roster is so experienced they’re not going to care much about seeding. The only team you really want to avoid in Round 1 is OKC, but outside of them, who’s beating these guys in a 7-game series if they’re healthy?

They’re better than Denver, better than the Lakers (sadly). I don’t even know what the Mavs are yet. And MIN/MEM just aren’t at that level.

Obviously, health is the big question and let’s be real, they probably won’t stay healthy, because they never do. But if they are healthy when the playoffs start, they should go in feeling real pressure to win it all.

Smart decision by Chris Paul. Has a meaningful role on a team that's expected to make the playoffs and gets to retire as a Clipper at the same time.

How fun would a first round playoff series against the Lakers or Warriors be?

They’re too old and Kawhi doesn’t believe in doing more to overcome adversity. It being CP3’s final season means nothing to him.

I like the team but they are so old and injury prone that the odds of them doing any serious damage are so low.

BUT, if they be healthy come playoff time, they can beat anyone.

Always a solid addition. Probably not The Piece, but it's a nice story and he'll be good when he's healthy,.

Clippers biggest issues the last few years have been size after Zubac, especially with Kawhi often slotting at PF and turnovers+lack of playmaking. Getting Kawhi out of the paint, their best backup 5 and starting PF in 10 years probably (they haven’t had an elite 4 since Griffin’s prime), and a legit ball handling playmaking floor general off the bench is a perfect summer.

The Clippers have a nice retirement community going on. They get those cozy LA living, will get plenty of hype and attention, and when they eventually lose in the first round everyone will just blame Harden or age and all will be forgotten.

I love it! He deserves one last playoff run. They should be fun to watch if they manage to stay healthy.
