I like that this Yankee Reliever's name is everybody's feelings about Atkins.

Can we please leave him in for the 8th and pretend we aren’t completely beholden to analytics for once

I know they probably won’t, but I feel like they should throw gausman out there for one more inning…

Given the upcoming schedule, Schneider's got to at least let Gausman start the 8th, right? He couldn't be thinking of moving to the bullpen with more games than days coming up and a starter still low in pitch count, right?

Pitch count won’t enter into it at all, 4th time through the order numbers will be the determining factor as it always is for this organization

So **** stupid. Pulling a guy who is dealing at only 85 pitches.

This nonsense would never happen even 5 years ago, baseball as a sport is way too devoid of common sense at this point.

I would have let Gausman start the 8th. Way too much analytics, instead of letting a guy stay in who has looked the best he has looked all year at 85 pitches.

Yep. Especially when you're in the 4th game of a 14 in 13 day stretch. Save the bullpen when you can.

And with that walk, it sort of reaffirms the mistake to pull Gausman

Can’t wait for more of that nonsense in a playoff game too

And now Stanton is up as the tying run instead of at least trying with a completely dominant starting pitcher

Cannot wait until this front office is gone

Optimistically, this is the perfect result.

Bad enough that maybe he'll learn from it, but (hopefully) not so bad that we'll lose because of the terrible decisionmaking.

Lmaooo all the outside strikes he’s been giving to the Yankees and that’s a ball

He won’t learn from anything and it’s ultimately not really his call.

The front office’s puppet managers have been doing this since Gibbons left; they have to follow the numbers without exception.
