Gaus had become predictable with his splitter for a while now, he's leaning more on his fastball and hitters are not ready for it and it makes his splitter more effective. Nice adjustment.

No. Especially with the starters pitxhint the way they have been, all the injuries, and Guerrero having a meh season. How are they doing this. Even Hoffman has had bad stretches and has a 4 + era as a closer. How the **** are they winning

pretty much everyone is contributing positively. barger, kirk, springer, clement, heinemen etc. vlad/bo aren't having monster seasons but they're not negatives. they don't have santander being an anchor in the lineup. which he was earlier.

same thing on the pitching side of things. no one in the present staff/pen has been a huge minus. Lauer being a positive contributor was a huge find.

The differential says they're maybe playing a bit above their heads right now but that's baseball. sometimes it works the other way too. just take the good when you can.

There are 4 losing streaks that really dent the run differential:

5 game losing streak - outscored 31-9
3 game losing streak - outscored 26-5
3 game losing streak - outscored 19-2
3 game losing streak - outscored 22-6

So in those 14 games they’re being outscored 98-22.
