Reunite NovaKnicks NY/LAL/PHX/MIN/UTA

Knicks trade Robinson, McBride, Kolek, Dadiet, cash considerations
get Donte, Nick Richards, Kevin Love

Rationale: Donte set the knicks record for 3's made, has incredible chemistry with Brunson and will fit well in a "light the beam" style team. Richards provides a watered down version of what Mitch brings and we will have Hukporti and possibly our developmental big all to be defensive options behind KAT. Love would either retire/buy out or play a reserve role for nights KAT sits out and we need size and spacing.

Lakers trade Reaves, Vando, Kleber
get Robinson, Royce O'Neale, Kyle Anderson, Miles McBride

Rationale: Ill fitting Reaves swapped out for 2 top notch defenders, McBride can step into starting role as a 3-D POA defender, Mitch who single-handedly changed our ranking on defense, would slot in as the primary back up for Ayton which would be good for both players injury risks. This move basically fills out the Lakers lineup, still allowing for Rui + pick for Wiggins (or similar) if/when that becomes available. More cap space in 2027 as well.

Suns trade Richards, Royce
get Vando, Leonard Miller, Kolek
Rationale: Richards just got buried on the depth chart, so this move instead provides useful option at the 4 along with two pretty decent prospects at positions of need. kolek has a little Nash in him, where better to break that out?

Wolves trade Donte, Miller
get Reaves
Despite that the Wolves basically erased Reaves from the playoffs, he would thrive in their system and probably be more of what they were hoping for with Donte. As much a scorer as a shooter, he can be the lone poor defender in the back court, and be a true second ball handler for this team.

Jazz trade Love, Anderson
get Kleber, Dadiet, cash considerations
Rationale: Why not? first, if your team likes Nurkic, Kleber is a perfeclty good 3rd string option for that role (or buy out option). Dadiet was the youngest player last year, showed flashes, and has all of the tools you want in a young wing. A bit redundant in NY as they have two similar profile wings.

No need for New York to be part of this.

Brunson: So what are you paid to do?

This is awful for NY. We get worse up front and sacrifice what little youth we have for bench guys.
Why rely on nuance, facts and logic when you can bludgeon the other side with mindless repetition of "Duuur McDaniel's has potential :tooth and still be treated as if you were reasonable.

DOA for the Lakers. They're not trading Reaves for an injury prone center and flotsam.

I like your thinking. In my mind, the reason MIN made the KAT trade was to get salary relief to pay Naz, and to get DiVincenzo. He’s not as big a name as Randle, but he was a great fit as a 3-and-D wing to pair with Ant, and more importantly, he had three seasons on that cheap deal. Well, DDV didn’t do so well in MIN last year, and I think the change off the Knicks shook him. I think he will be better this year, but he might be worth even more to the Knicks. There, he’s happy, he improves the chemistry with other players, and there isn’t any learning curve how to play with those guys.

I also agree that Reaves style would fit well with MIN, who needs more playmaking and a scorer to help Ant.

My issue really becomes the contracts. Reaves is better, but he will get paid next year, and the Wolves have really spent their money on other guys. Donte has two cheap years on his deal. Will DDV improve this year and make this a “no?” I tend to think so, but it’s a reasonable thought, so kudos for your post.

Y'all will have to wait for maybe mid or next offseason, if you want to trade Reaves, Lakers are pretty much set now, unless someone wants Knecht, Maxi, Gabe
My Go Team
Magic, Jordan, Bird, Duncan, Shaq

My Counter
Stockton, Kobe, Pippen, Rodman, Dirk

Today's Team
Luka, SGA, Tatum, Giannis, Wemby

My wager is that a lot of guys think they are getting the bag next year, but there is not as much bag available as players who anticipate it. There are a lot of players out there who approximate what he does. If he has an elite year then Wolves can just retain him (let Conley go) and they will be in a fine cap position.

Utah probably says yes because they don’t need (and shouldn’t want) Anderson or Love around. Probably just hinges on the cash considerations. And only taking back one player and sending two is good as it opens up a spot for Utah to take fliers on European/International guys. They need to find their next Joe Ingles type of player.

I don't see the Wolves being able to pay Reaves next contract, which makes the deal unlikely from the Minnesota perspective.
