This. He is an OK stop gap as a backup for a game here or there or if there foul trouble.
He doesn't do anything great, but he also won't be completely frustrating either.
He's a big body that will fill some minutes if needed.
We have definitely had worse fringe NBA bigs on our roster. I would take him over Castleton (who was on our summer league roster)

Agreed on Castleton vs Orlando Robinson. Wasn't following too closely towards the end so no idea why he got replaced by Castleton.

I think they were hoping to make a trade and use Castleton as a pure cap move. Add him...and possibly Larson if you need to add salary to the deal.
Maybe OR wanted a guaranteed deal to come back with us.
Who knows.

They make so many nothing moves around the margins that ends out being meaningless. Nothing would surprise me.

Doesn't matter - Castleton will most likely get cut before his contract is guaranteed plus Raptors probably want to give 3rd string C mins to Chomche to further his development.

My guess was Robinson didn't accept the Raptors offer, but Castleton did......so they went with Castleton.

Re: Orlando Robinson Thoughts?
He had some good stretches to end last season. I thought he played well enough to get picked back up by the Raptors but for some reason he didn't. Hes still young enough to improve. I think there must've been a reason he left that we don't know of, things were going very well for him here. I think the Raps tried to prioritize a 5 who can hit a 3 and it came down to how well he could to that....I guess thats why they signed Mamu instead

Re: Orlando Robinson Thoughts?
Orob was fine as a g-league level player for a tanking team. On the magic, he's a perfectly acceptable developmental project. Play him in g-league and when everyone else is injured.
Better than Castleton, but not good enough waste cap space on when you tight to the apron

Still don't understand why we cut him but brought back Castleton. Orlando is a decent third string centre.

Clearly defense is the difference between winning and losing for this team.
