High school teacher here as well and have always operated under that analogy, In fact have to go on a school related PD at the beginning of August. REALLY starting to feel like Sunday :-(

I just went in yesterday and one more on Thursday. Then the real crying begins
Edit: And yes I’m aware we suck to the regular non-teacher workforce out there

Teacher's are Great!!!
I/We entrust our Children and Grandchildren to them.

Thank You, For Your Service, To All Teachers,

Keep Up The Good Work!!!

As a fellow teacher too, I can relate to that Sunday analogy.

Wow, I didn't realize that there were so many of us. I don't know why but that kinda makes me happy as hell. Do we need an OT teachers thread or something?

We might could at "Teachers-Educators" to the Thread?:

It seems that we have a ton of Teachers on the Celtics Forum.
I've changed the existing Thread, and Added "Teachers" to it.

Unless anyone objects, We'll keep it.

Imposter syndrome by Joseph Knox. I’m not a big reader but this book captivated me and I read 200 pages in 2 days.

Ahh we got out late so I don't go back until the last week of August. Not looking forward to it because my Principal is making me teach freshmen this year after teaching sophomores and juniors last year. And unfortunately freshmen suck on ice.

Oh I get it. We go back the last week too. Fortunately, I have not taught freshman for 18 years. But I will have a freshman advisory this year, which is fine. My last four years, holy s***. My co workers were so impressed I made it haha. Great kids individually, but the boys together were a challenge but at least they knew who the boss was. And they knew the whole perception for 3 years.

Do teachers (other than canman) have the least bit of awareness that most people don't get 3 months off and cushy full pensions, so aren't sympathetic to when teachers actually have to show up to work?

The world found out during the [2020 in case we’re not supposed to mention it], whatever perks they think teachers get, it’s not nearly enough! Maybe you missed the finding out phase?

Teachers?? we talkin bout Teachers??

Ok, I will add that while I am NOT a teacher (shocker), I have great respect for teachers... well.. except for my Kindergarten teacher.. who sat me in between these 2 twins, who came in every day, wearing a Cowboy and Indian Costume, who relentless bullied me, all year, just because I cried on my first day of School.. :o .. all while she did nothing!! (in her defense I think she was 80 years old), and when the year ended, my mother "told her off" ... Only to find out 14 months later I had the same teacher (Miss Sandhome) for 2nd grade. :(

I swear she didn't speak to me all year.. I started falling behind and never received any help. So, I started my first ever "learn how the cheat" by looking over to the kid next to me on test day. But it never helped. The kid was so shy, he spelled about this big > on his tests..

Lord those childhood flash backs are running chills up my spine. :-?
2 things need to go.. my lack of spell check and Joe..

Teachers don't get paid enough. I'm not a teacher but have been involved with kids sport and enough of the the parents are nightmares to make me say no thanks and then you have the little **** that some kids are.

If we are talking about the great misses, what about Beal? He was best mates with Tatum and the missing piece!

I don't know about that but it seems like your teachers failed you pretty badly, I can see why you'd be resentful.

You can tell when someone is only out for themselves and obsessed with cashing in. That's when they become a teacher. It's the classic sell out move. All about the $$$$$$$.
