Real question, I could probably look it up but you guys are quicker than I, wasn’t it a thing at one point how stagnant the wolves were offensively last year?
I recall they kind of hit a groove once Randle got going later in the year, but while I wouldn’t mind Priggy Smalls coming back, I wonder what would/is he really bringing to the table..

Just seems like another guy that the front office is placing on browns staff. It’s just weird that his staff is gonna be a bunch of Thibs guys and someone Rosas knows from his time with the wolves. Who are mike browns friends?

I mean Minny was ranked 8th overall in OFF rating. Considering they had some injuries and played the entire season with an aging PG in Conley I think that speaks pretty highly of what they were able to accomplish.

Probably not.
This season will be Mike Brown & The Thibs Pips

Thank you for the quick answer, not a big analytics guy, I just remember us drubbing the wolves earlier in the year and the few wolves games I did watch the commentators just kept mentioning ANT not having space (I think he made the same comments himself) and shooting a higher rate of threes.
Big picture your right, all that noise and them finishing 8th overall is pretty significant.

Its not a dictatorship like the old coach was running though. Sounds like Mike Brown is just amendable to having good coaches on his staff and collaborating with the FO. I'm sure Rosas is playing a factor here.
Don't think you need to have him just find all his friends to be his assistants because you also don't want a lot of "yes" men. You want guys that will challenge you and all Mike Brown probably wants is hard working good coaches...don't think having a relationship prior is a pre-requisite.

One of mike brown's guys is Jay Triano but the Mavs denied us permission. That's the guy who ran the Kings offense. Im assuming he must have ties with Borrego as well since they were really trying to get him. But yeah, it def feels pretty weird that our staff is gonna have a bunch of Thibs holdovers. I've seen people argue that Thibs never even used them so maybe that's why they want to give them a shot with Brown? Idk lol

I remember when Randle came back the Wolves made it an emphasis to use him more as a playmaker like he was here with us and that's what mainly unlocked their offense. I wonder if it was Prigioni that made that call tho. Either way, can't hurt bringing him here.
Doing some research here I'm reading that Prigioni has been in charge of their offense for at least 2 seasons he's been there. He should be able to help us I think

When Thibs first got hired his staff was about half coaches that front office wanted and half his own guys. At the time a lot of us thought that was unusual cuz of the amount of say the front office had on Thibs assistants. Brown hasn’t brought in anyone that he has a connection with and you don’t find that weird at all? The front office should have some say in the coaching staff but as right now they’ve picked every single one assistant. I’m sure brown will sit in on the interview with Pablo but it doesn’t seem like it be his decision to ultimately hire him or not.

Most of Thibs assistants have followed him to every coaching job he’s had. I can’t imagine that he’s that unpleasant to work with that they’d keep wanting to work with him![]()
Maybe brown and borrego worked together in San Antonio? They’re at least both from pops coaching tree. That does make me feel better that they’ve tried to bring in some of his people and been shot down.
