This is why you get a first round pick from Blazers. I'd do Allen/Royce for Grant/1stRP

The Suns have NOT reached an agreement with Jared Butler but I do believe they like him. But no, an agreement has not been reached.

Not paying to move Grant.

Plus, its not worth screwing up your cap for Jerami Grant for one FRP.

Make the right trade both short and long term over making a trade because you now can.

Jared Butler is just the type of 14th spot signing I would expect. Vet minimum adding $2.4m to the cap. Fills a position of need. Still young enough to have growth potential. Not official yet but makes 100% sense.

Any trades where we take back bad contracts better involve picks. These guys need to be very careful about the trades they make going forward, otherwise they're just going to dig us into a deeper hole. It does make sense to try to put together at least a semi-competitive team since we won't be getting any of our own picks for quite some time and we will only have picks swaps available but it can't be done at the expense of future flexibility.

So yeah, unless Portland is including picks, Grant should be a hard pass. Hopefully Ishbia learned from the Beal situation how difficult bad contracts can make things. But I also think this Booker deal is a bad contract so IDK.

So you want the player but not the contract? Either go back on your meds or cut your dosage. Better yet, just stop shopping for every Tom Dick and Harry that the clickbaiting media deems tradable.

32.4
34.8
37.2 MILLION
for a dude who is 35

Lol!
You know Frank, it is possible to like the idea of a player contextually as a fit (competitively) but not like the salary that he's getting paid. Holiday would be great here for our needs, but not at his salary. Does that make sense to you? If not, go take a nap and some metamucil and marinate on it until it does.

Also, if you have such an issue with my trade ideas/ suggestions, please feel free to just scroll past or use the ignore option. Not sure why you're so cranky or wound up about discussions on a message board anyways. This is a sports forum and we are here to discuss our thoughts, ideas and opinions on our team after all.

And this is the offseason in which that contextually happens. Again, if my posts are apparently causing you such distress and roidal flareup, just ignore them and move on................ unless you're just seeking attention at my expense. I understand that it gets lonely at times as you get older, but just take a nap and get ready for bingo or whatever they're doing at your rest home k. Everything will get better! :D

We honestly need floor spacing ability at the 4 to help open up the floor for Booker and J Green to be optimized in the backcourt. Also, neither of Brooks or Dunn should be tasked to play at the 4 as that's only going to put us at a disadvantage in terms of size/ strength matchups.

And honestly, I'd much rather see Brooks and Dunn free to roam the perimeter so other teams are less likely to kill us from three, etc. The way I see our optimal lineup for now (barring any unforeseen additions) is................

-Green/ Booker/ Brooks/ Davis/ Williams.

- Gillespie/ Allen/ Dunn/ Flemming/ Richards.

- FA/ Brea/ O'neale/ Ighodaro/ Maluach.

For a FA guard, a few names I'd really look at are:

Delon Wright, Markelle Fultz, Jared Butler, Jordan Goodwin, maybe Delano Banton (upside swing). All would come really cheap on a vet minimum deal too.

As for the PF spots, again, I believe that we need spacing and versatility, but at a low cost effective price. Getting a floor spacing big (bigger than 6'8 - Hayes Davis) would allow us to matchup better and space the floor and open up driving lanes more for BOTH Booker and J Green.

Also, pulling the defense out of the paint could help the spacing more for our cutters and our centers to play more dynamically in the post. Our top cost controlled free agency options here are:

Trey Lyles, Micah Potter, Jalen McDaniels (remember him), Pter Cornelie, maybe Alex Reese?? I'd also offer EJ Onu ( G league) as a super high upside 6'11 utliity PF/C with guard skills that can do a bit of everything! Or maybe look into Jackson Moni??

Shams:
The Phoenix Suns have claimed former Lakers guard Jordan Goodwin off free agency waivers, sources tell ESPN. Goodwin, waived by the Lakers to create roster space for Marcus Smart, is a gritty, upside pickup for the Suns backcourt.

Really nice to see the " buy in" to our team! BOTH players (J Green and Booker) have an insane work ethic and both idolized Kobe Bryant too! So I hope that competitive intensity and drive filters out to our whole team.

Yes! A low key version of Jevon Carter with better size ( 6'3) that fits our culture (defensive intensity/ hustle) very well.

Not a fan of the Goodwin signing. Why not bring in someone young with potential?

Categorize this under duh!!! James has been using steroids since he came into the league, and the league office has predictably turned a blind eye to it because he was the poster boy for the league. His hairline has given him away for a couple of seasons now though....lol.
