Resign Simons on team friendly deal, resign Niang to minimum deal. Move someone like JD, Tillman or Walsh before the deadline to dip under the 2nd apron this year. Then next summer use the Porzingis TPE to go and get a starting C.

Then in 26-27 you have:

C acquisition w/ Porzingis TPE
F Tatum
F Brown
G Simons
G White

Bench: Pritchard, Hauser, Queta, Niang + whoever ends up being the best out of Minott/Scheierman/Walsh/Hugo, Garza

That's a serious title contender. And hopefully by that time OKC has lost some of their good role players since they'll be paying such a crazy amount of $ for SGA/Chet/Jdub

Thought they had to get under the 1st apron to open up the TPE then if using it put them back over they'd be hard-capped?

Or any young player with upside and, ideally, size. I would take a center, but I would LOVE a big forward who can take the pressure off Tatum on defense.

Celtics have to cut $12.2 million just for the conversation to start. Celtics would be capped at the 1st apron. Very unlikely.

Yes they do, but they should be well under the first Apron for 26/27.
Assuming a late teens FRP they will have 12 players signed and be about 25 million under the 1st Apron.
Probably not room for Simons and the whole TPE though.
If Walsh, Minot, or Sheierman step up, you could trade Hauser and then have 35 million to spend on Simons and using the TPE.

Yeah and I doubt eason is available.

But I would love either of them.

And, imo, about the ideal type of player to add

What kind of trade idea is this?

A 3 team trade, so we're getting Pat Williams and Jabari Smith Jr, who are basically the same player and neither can really play the 5. Which team is getting Simons, Houston or Chicago?

One of those teams is giving up Jabari or Pat..and all they're getting is Tillman? Why the heck would they do that? Tillman has 0 trade value..

He doesn’t seem to have that rebounding skill/instinct.
Williams has not improved at all since coming into the league, so I am concerned he is what he is.
I’d pass hard and try to develop Minott into that role.
Jalen Smith might be something though…I am not sure he would be worth taking on Williams for though.
That trade would take away all flexibility we have gained for next year as well…adding 27 million and putting us over the first Apron. I don’t think it’s worth it.

Would have to ship out a cheap o contract with them...I would be intrigued though.

Didnt think Smith made that much...kind of surprised at 9 million....

Also didnt realize that they now had Okoro too.

Give me Okorro, Smith and Cash (250k)

Sheds 7.5 million, adds a starting center and a big strong wing defender who can make 3s (WOuld be below 1st apron and only 2.5 mill into tax)

White/Pritchard
Brown/Scheierman
Okoro/Hugo
Smith/Hauser

Hoopshype:

Charles Bassey, who made a strong impression with Boston during three Summer League games, is attracting attention from Virtus Bologna, according to Italian media outlet Pianeta Basket. Bassey could receive a training camp invitation, but that’s far from certain as the Celtics sort through their center options.

Also, according to Awful Announcing, Brian Scalabrine will be calling some national games for NBC:

Current Boston Celtics analyst Brian Scalabrine will call games for NBC. The colorful personality has added his own unique flavor to Celtics broadcast filling the impossibly large shoes of Tommy Heinsohn on NBC Sports Boston.
