Who would you take out? I tried to do as many as possible who had at least one ring.

I also gave Steve Nash, CP3 and D-Wade consideration

Do you think this was the right 10 guys? I considered Karl Malone, Barkley, CP3, Nash, John Stockton and D-Wade as well.

It seems like guys like Moses Malone, Dr. J, Rick Barry, George Gervin - guys that were in the ABA during some years of their career, are generally downgraded and underrated in all time player rankings.

It kind of seems like the NBA just never wanted to market and promote such players as much as the ones that only played in the NBA.

Kind of like how the NBA doesn't seem to like to promote and market the international players as much as the American players.

I probably underrated those guys as well. I have come around to Moses Malone and Dr. J but probably not Barry, Gervin and even Hondo and Elgin Baylor I don't think I have a clear picture of how good they were.

Not David Robertson?

oh man, my autocorrect has now created a merged player  Didn't even realize!

David Robertson was one of the greats for the San Antonio Bucks, but then again… Oscar Robinson was putting up nightly trible dubs for the Milwaukee Spurs. Tough to choose

Edit: If I’m being honest, I voted for Jokic. Love the Riddler.

I guess if winning a ring is a criteria to make the poll then you wouldn't have Barkley and Malone. If the poll is about 2nd Tier all time greats then it should include other players. The pool of 2nd tier all time greats is naturally going to be bigger than the pool of 1st tier all timers.

DWade is a good candidate to consider for 2nd tier all timers with a ring. Many might put him ahead of Dr. J.

If I were to remove one or two players from your list it might be Giannis and Jokic. Their careers are not done yet and it would be a cop out but I think you could get away with keeping active players off the poll. Some think that Jokic is a 1st tier all timer and it's just a matter of time before he wins another championship to validate that opinion.

To be clear it wasn’t just about winning a ring. I’m just saying I wanted the 10 best candidates and given that the primes are all relatively close. I didn’t think having players without a ring would give the best 10 candidates.

I think a ring is what puts them over the top. Although people have Karl Malone over David. I still don’t see an any world where Karl wins this poll.

Jokic is dominating the poll so he without a doubt is making it. And Giannis is probably a half a tier behind him.

Think it´s mostly timing. When he came in the league you had prime Kareem in the same conference. When he won his title and was definitely the best player you still had Dr. J on the team, who was at this point probably still the most popular player in the league. Then he was first on an irrelevant Washington team and then 2nd fiddle next to Dominique while Hakeem, Ewing and Daugherty became young, successful franchise Centers for their teams.

To me definitely the greatest defender of all time. Never saw anyone that could defend the perimeter and the post that well at the same time. Somehow the smallest rim protector and the tallest perimeter defender of all time at the same time.

In general a very torn man that constantly seemed in conflict with himself. He is like a real life Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Super christian good guy family man one second, a moment later he might get arrested for kicking down the door of his family home.
