That would be so fun. I don't expect it, but would love it.MickeyDavis wrote:Ernie is still under contract but it would be cool to bring Ernie home. He's only done baseball as a play by play guy but I'm sure he could do basketball. Ernie and Marques would be top notch.

Honestly, another bad part of Giannis leaving would be Thanasis leaving.

Giving him a contract for the next two years would be fun just to watch and listen to the fans of whomever trades for Giannis sweat.

Reading the Marchand article, I think it's more likely that they replace Jefferson. They seem wedded to Doris, for better or worse.
They should recruit Doc back to the booth.

Genuinely have thought the television nba coverage has been awful ever since they switched to espn back in 02. Brean, Burke, Jackson in recent times are just the tail end of some awful commentary dating back to then. Doris was the darling during the pandemic, clearly that love affair with fans has ended.
Bring back 90s nbc professionalism. Need new voices, not awful force fed espn talking heads.

Re: Bucks Media Thread (Discussion of Bucks & Sports Media)
Decent article comparing Ringer NBA coverage with ESPN's.
https://awfulannouncing.com/ringer/nba-finals-coverage-everything-espn-wasnt.html
At this point my podcast update list is loaded with almost too many Ringer NBA pods. But I'm glad they're out there and available.
In the article above, the author notes that ESPN always tries to jam some narrative down on everything, versus actually knowing anything about the players and teams.

Kevin Harlan to Amazon is official. Ian Eagle is their other PBP voice. Their analysts will be Brent Barry, Blake Griffin, Steve Nash, Dirk Nowitzki, Candace Parker, Stan Van Gundy and Dwyane Wade. They will rotate with Eagle and Harlan, sometimes it will be 2 on the broadcast, sometimes 3. Nash, Parker and Wade will switch between studio and games.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Glad he left. Draft Express was always superior to whatever watered down version they had him doing for ESPN.

Pretty amazing how ESPN just refused to use him for 8 years.
Besides the hoop collective podcast and Windy/shams updates I don't pay any attention to ESPN.

Feels like one of those situations where they basically acquired him to eliminate some competition.

People watch espn outside of live sports? Why?

Re: Bucks Media Thread (Discussion of Bucks & Sports Media)
Of course this bitch Michael Pina on Zach Lowe's pod ranked us below Philly, Toronto, Detroit, Heat etc in his East tiers and lists us with Chicago under "Play-in bound". Spends days writing articles about Giannis leaving the Bucks and then when he doesn't get his way, pouts and says we are no better than a playoff team.
