None of them have done anything in the NBA. Well, Springer kind of has done something in the NBA but he's barely hanging onto a spot in the league..

Trevelin Queen helped the Magic beat us in ORL last winter. Had never heard of him prior. Might be his career's zenith?
Edit: nope, he scored 25 against IND last spring. His 17 against us is tied for 2nd most in his four seasons. Averaging 4ppg in his 62 NBA games played over 4 years while shooting (wow) 37/27. Maybe he plays defense?

I just saw the news. I'm bummed out. JD probably wasn't going to be a good NBA player but he was the abolsute best player in the G League and never got a real chance here. We spent a lot of time/effort to develop him to this point and his game seemed tailormade for the opportunity in front of the 2025-26 Celtics, without JT and needing to overcome our bad habit of slow pace and half court stagnancy.

I am not surprised, but I'm disappointed. I'd personally rather have JD on the team... Hope he gets a chance on another NBA team

Was kinda interested in seeing if he could earn a shot but also... meh.

Put the center position aside for now (Queta, Garza, Tillman). Looking at the rest of the roster, Brown/White/Pritchard/Hauser/Simons/Niang are the "established" NBA rotation players. That's 6 guys. The rest of our non-centers are fighting for their NBA lives right now. If I had to rank the NBA prospects of them:

Scheierman
Gonzalez
Walsh
Minott
Davison

It's hard to imagine more than the top 2 getting playing time along with the 6 guys I mentioned above. Just hard to play more than 8 total non-centers in a rotation.

Those 5 guys and then the 3 centers/6 established non-centers I mentioned above and then Tatum on injured list would be our 15. I have Davison as the last ranked guy of the non-centers. And his being on the team vs. off it was the difference between over/under 2nd apron. I figured they'd bring him to camp because it's not like it's crazy to imagine he beats out a few of those guys. But I also get why they did it now and think he was lowest ranked guy on the team.

Best of luck JD. Shame he never got a real chance to sink or swim here. Hopefully he can get some real playing on his next team.

Of our players <26 yrs, JD may have the least chance to be an effective NBA player, but the ways he impacts the game: fast athletic, not reliant on 3pt variance, and pass first -- are in the areas we need the most help.

We'll see what we have over the long run in Niang and Simons but Tillman seems like dead weight. And so, going forward, seems like our keepers are: Tatum, Brown, White, Pritchard, Queta, Hauser and hopefully 2 of Gonzalez, Walsh, Scheierman and Minott.

Thats a pretty thin roster (and then the 2-way guys) and still pretty old outside of Hugo and Walsh

Good luck, JD! He could turn out to be a good fit in the NBL.

-Quite a few smaller guards have become stars there. Such as Bryce Cotton, Kendric Davis, Jaylen Adams, etc.
-Plus he won't have to learn a new language, which he would have to do if he went to play in Europe
-His agent should be on the phone now with an NBL team in need of a starting PG

Huh, timing is surprising. Could indicate another move - or not, lol.
If we just wanted to dump him for money/2nd apron space we could have waited til 1/10/26. But we save paying him til then.
Could mean we want the spot now. Or that we're done making moves and this gets getting under the apron over with.

Good sign for Walsh, regardless.

The timing may just be the team doing the kid a solid. If he signs elsewhere soon, then that's probably what it is.

Wishing him the best of luck wherever he ends up.

Yeah, there's plenty of reasons. I just meant I was personally surprised it happened today - wasn't expecting anything.

Just one more reminder to us all that putting up good numbers in the G-League means positive absolutely nothing. G-League MVP means approximately dick to big league clubs.

Yup. It's a massive difference in level of competition between g league and NBA. I think often times folks don't realize just how big the difference is..

There's also a difference just between teams in the NBA. The bar isn't that high to get some rotation mins here and there on a bottom 5 team in the league. The bar is higher to be a rotation player for a middle of the road team, and it's even higher to be a rotation player on a contender.

There's levels to it..

As expected. I really think Davison improved alot over the last year or so but he's gone for the same reason that Holiday and Porzingis are gone.
