2025 NFL Off-Season

If Parsons had been extended, the ESPN hype would be about how he's the highest-paid non QB in the league.

There would still be a lot of hype about their prospects this year or every year.

Still going to be a problem fitting in these huge contracts. Have to think some starters will have to be cut or just not re-signed, when Dan is making $78 million and Parsons is over $40 million.

Apparently the cowboys need the extra attention. They need to see that they are talked about. They won’t win championships so instead they delay signings to get on espn.

As a Fields truther, sucks to see him go down with a toe injury. Hope that **** doesn't linger into the regular season.

They don’t NEED the free advertising but it’s free. The Cowboys are in ESPN and local and national radio. That’s all they are talking about (Micah’s contract and the Cowboys). They are probably saving money (just in advertising) by doing it this way.

Then just before the start of the season the Cowboys make Micah the highest paid non-QB in NFL history. Then they will continue to talk about the Cowboys and Micah’s contract.

As for fitting the contract under the cap, I’m not worried about that. We hear every year how this players contract or that players contract is going to prevent them from doing blah, blah, blah… it never has an effect.

Is this the way I would do things? Nope, but the Jones’ are a special breed.

Yeh the optics of that are no bueno. When I first saw the news I was expecting a much more severe injury.

You think anything changes when Jerry passes? Or will Stephen still be in front of the mics?? He seems to enjoy the spotlight as well.

Well to be fair, Paul pierce got carted off or rather he was taken off in a wheelchair because he literally pooped himself in the middle of a game, so leaving because of a toe injury isn’t as bad in my book.

I think they care far more about the brand than they do about the actual team. And I’m gonna be real here but I don’t blame them. It’s the most valuable sports franchise and as an owner your main goal is to make money. The cowboys make more money than any team out there.

They just need to keep doing enough to make it look like they are trying to compete. They will make tons of money sitting in the 10-12 win range annually with a 1st or 2nd round playoff exit.

They clearly want to win. They just want to do it on their terms. Jerry refuses to take a backseat. Which is where their problems begin.

I really don’t think they care either way at this point. Yes they’d rather win but they don’t want to win enough to make necessary changes. Having the owner and GM be a different person would show that they actually do want to win. It’s the same issues going back 30 years now. Players feel like they are zoo animals in an exibit because fans are constantly going through watching them do basic things like eating lunch and working out, but it’s another way for Jerry to make money.

Paul Pierce will never be able to Live that down. Wheel Chair. Then...HEY IM BACK! I don't think fields would be to that level

We used to call him “el caca” in my house growing up. I think that’s a more accurate nickname than “the truth”. If he told the truth then he would’ve admitted that he dropped a **** all over himself during the game. He finally admitted it but it took like 15 years to tell the truth lolll

It might actually get worse. Stephen thinks he’s cut from the same cloth as his dad but he isn’t. Jerry may meddle and he doesn’t a lot of things bad but he almost always fields a good team. I’m not sure Stephen will be able to do the same once Jerry is out of the picture.

Labron once got wheelchaired out of the Alamo Dome in the middle of a playoff series because it was too hot in there.

In all fairness to Will McClay, he’s the de facto GM. He handles all of the duties of a GM and he’d probably be the highest paid GM in the league if he held that title. Jerry is GM in name only.

As long as the buck stops with Jerry, for example in regards to contract negotiations, nobody else is the de facto GM.
