No way lmao!!! At this point just trade Rozier for him lol

Not surprised. One way scoring guards have been getting killed in the new nba landscape. It's one reason we got Powell for so cheap.

Factor in that he’s also a RFA who are also getting bent over this summer and he’s getting the worst of both worlds

Give the Bulls an asset and let them buyout Rozier instead. This should be a layup

Heat management is in tunnel vision at this point. No faith they will do anything else to improve the team. The strategy appears to be “run it back” on a team that just had the worse playoff performance in NBA history.

Giddey can’t be aggregated with other Bulls players in a Sign & trade anyway.

Terry and a 2nd for Vuc

Wiggins and KJ for The Giddler

Simple fix!

Giddey is a rfa, so byc status kicks in.

100% of his salary incoming while 50% outgoing.

So, Miami sends out about 30M (wiggins and kj) which means Giddey is costing 60M/year to the Heat. (Ignoring the aggregate salaries which is also illegal).

Guess we’ll save Wiggins for the LeBron trade

It depends on what starting salary number Giddey will agree to. Fontecchio and Highsmith add up to 14 mil. That means Heat could sign and trade with Giddey incoming at $28 mil.

I guess Dru Smith waited too long so Heat pulled his two-way offer and gave it to this Gardner dude?

Without an additional trade, like for a starting PG or extra scoring front court help, it has very marginal impact on wins imo. Can't keep depending on Spo to pull a rabbit of his hat with decent to good players and a subpar cast. At least before he had Jimmy. Who does he have now?

I think they are putting A LOT of faith in Bam and Herro to trot this lineup out and expect it to win consistently. But more than likely they aren't actually looking to do anything but bide time. It's clearly the reason why they refuse to invest in them beyond lateral moves that don't impact the future ability to go after a real star.

Not sure if there was any excitement like the one you are trying to describe, i dont think anyone thinks that Powell puts us outside of the play in..

What the trade did do, the Miami Heat has positioned themselves on the negotiating tables.

With the same amount of minutes and shot attempts, Powell can score just as much as Herro and do it more efficiently, and he has more of an offensive bag than Herro.

Herro is not a 50 million per year player. He is a 20-25 million per year type of player.

With Powell, there will be moments where he simply looks better than Herro. There will be moments the production is better, or the same. The Heat may not even know it yet, but they will find out fast that overpaying long term to Herro when you can get his exact production easily for Love and Kyle Andersan expiring, it just isnt smart business.

There was plenty of overrating of the move. Including your previous and current rant about Powell being equal to or better than Tyler. Yeah, no. If he were Tyler level we should have a much better outlook for the season than we do. 2 Herros and a Bam under Spo is a contender in the east next year, whether you want to believe it or not.

But the truth is, Powell is a textbook role player in the same vein as a Jae Crowder (his prime year that he had with us). And I don't say that as an insult, I'm very happy to have him especially since it was for practically nothing. But its just the truth.

Hope I’m wrong but I’m willing to bet Powell will have the same issues fitting into this squad that Wiggins, Rozier, Lowry, last year Butler have had with this group. When you got role players like Bam and Herro playing star roles and taking that many shots a night you’re going to have issues
