Who's Our Next All Star?
Tough to say, but we have clear candidates. Let's assume sometime within the next few years we're a top 6 seed-winning enough to "warrant" an AS
Coby-easily see him averaging 23-25 relatively efficiently for a team that's playoff bound
Giddey-stat stuffer, could easily average 20-8-9
Matas-probably our most gifted player, could easily make a leap or two
Noa-total unknown, but he clearly has talent
Other Bull (not sure who, but anything's possible)
FA signing-we'll have cap space in the future, as of now
Trade-We use our expirings and picks to trade for an AS
Draft-We won't have another one soon, and it'll come from the draft

Gonna go with Ayo but probably for some other team.
He was literally one of the best fast break scorers in the NBA.

If the Bulls do, you would be complaining to much to ever hear it.
NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

Darryn Peterson?
I voted for Giddey because he puts up the fancier looking stats (or at least he did at the end of last season), if that continues I think he's closer to become an "All-Star" due to that reason alone but 'other reasons' may prevent him even becoming an "All-Star" all together.

This year in the east with Halli and Tatum out, who are the locks? Giannis and Banchero at the F? Siakam? Mobley at the 5 + KAT? Guards: Brunson, Cade Cunningham, Mitchell. Does Jaylen Brown get crowded out due to the tank year?
Behind those guys are OG, Mikal, Wagner, S.Barnes, Suggs, Ivey, Embiid if healthy, Maxey maybe, George maybe, Herro, Bam, Nesmith maybe, Garland, Hunter, Allan, Tr. Young, Daniels, J.Johnson, LaMelo, D.White.
Possible that Coby or Giddey break in, or Matas in a few… but wont be easy. Really impossible to predict. Bulls would need to look like a non-play-in playoff team, first, IMO. And Bulls are a long way from that.

Voted for Coby, because I have doubts about Giddey being able to maintain his 3P%. Matas is still 2 years away from being 2 years away.

Re: Who's Our Next All Star?
Most Likely - Coby because he can fill it up, and scoring nets you Eastern Conference player of the Month awards. String enough of those together, and you are in
My Pick - Giddey because I do NOT think our run last year was a fluke, this kid is special, and he's a walking triple double. If we got him an elite scoring option, I would anticipate his scoring goes down, but assists go up consistently. Will not be surprised if by age 25 or 26 he averages something like 17/11/10.5 and makes an allstar game as floor general of a playoff team
Fan Pick - Matas, cuz he's provocative and he get's the people going (Will Ferrell Voice)

If the Bulls hover around .500 and Giddey continues his upwards progression it will be Giddey. If not then Coby has a shot.

Re: Who's Our Next All Star?
It’s possible that Giddey has a crazy gaudy statistical season and makes an Allstar team as a fringe guy before Matas. Like this year even, especially with the injuries. But regardless of whether someone beats him to it in a random year, Matas is the one who looks like he could potentially make regular appearances there.
Once a pickle, never a cucumber again.

Re: Who's Our Next All Star?
I don't think you can logically pick anyone but Giddey for the "next" Bulls all-star. He played at that level post all-star break. That does not mean he ever will again but you have at least seen it happen for a short period of time at a very young age.
We have seen Coby's best. It hasn't been good enough to make the ASG yet. No reason to believe it will be in the near future.
As far as who I would bet on to be the highest ranked all-star or make the MOST ASG'S I would go with Matas. Which doesn't mean he will ever make one either.
The safest answer if I was forced to bet my house on it would be "none of the above". We still don't really know who Matas will be, and there are a lot of big name PG's who Giddey would need to beat out for a spot.

Not sure what you mean by "we've seen Coby's best" (as opposed to Giddey?). Coby won a player of the month award last season, so obviously he and Giddey have both played at all star levels for a decent amount of time. Is it just that Coby is a bit older?

Coby is 25.5 years old and is about to start his 7th season. He is known for having hot months. As you mentioned, he won "player of the month" one month. That was (IMHO) his best. His track record indicates he can not sustain that. In multiple seasons he has had a short period like this, while playing average most of the rest of the time; sometimes even being a negative on the court.
Giddey is about to turn 23 and start his 5th season. His most recent play is significantly better than anything he has previously done. There is a reason to "hope" this means that he has improved as a player and can sustaining something close to that level of play. Something close to that level of play could mean he makes an ASG.
I'm not predicting Giddey makes the ASG here. The question requires us to deal with "hope". I can make a case for having hope that Giddey makes one. I can't make a case for Coby. Especially since outside of pure scoring, Giddey is better at everything else than Coby.

I’m not sure either guy ever does it, but I don’t particularly think Giddey is more likely than Coby to do it.
Coby post-Zach trade played at an All-Star level. Giddey was also ridiculously hot down the stretch. Both guys seem to have a puncher’s chance at it.

Yeah...remember in 2023-2024 Coby had a hot streak and many were saying he was now an all-star? So he has a hot streak in 2024-2025 and once again now he is going to be an all-star. Yet when you look at his career per 36 numbers the only thing that has changed is he shot 1.5 more free throws per 36 last season. Coby is a scorer who in 6 seasons has shown no capability to efficiently score at an all-star level for anything other than hot stretches. What else is he bringing to push him over the edge into an all-star appearance?
If Josh Giddey averages close to a triple double, he has a really good chance of making it. Gaudy numbers and setting records for triple doubles tend to get you a lot of attention.
But yeah, those are the 2 who have a chance at it. I think we agree that neither may do it. We just disagree on which one has the best chance.

Right, I think I disagree because I would not call Coby’s end of the season a “hot streak,” because his improved play was largely due to getting to the rim much more effectively than he ever had before, as opposed to just hot shooting. IMO, he unlocked a new part of his game in a way that may be sustainable.
He’s just a scorer, though, so I agree if the last 20 games of Giddey was “real,” then he’d be more likely to make an ASG. I just don’t know that it is, in fact, real. Maybe! I hope so.

I could see it being Giddey this year or Matas next year. Or Coby any year he starts the season scoring 25 a game.
