1987 had the epic series with the Pistons. The Larry Bird steal remains famous. Parish's punch is sort of remembered. Nobody seems to recall the six-shot possession late in Game 7. That series deserves more appreciation ...
... even from the Pistons side.
So I want the 1987 championship, for that reason, for other reasons stated above, and for personal reasons I won't bother to cite.
Also, McHale shortened his career by refusing to sit with a broken foot, so it would be nice if he'd gotten another championship as a payoff.

Easy for me. Bird is my favorite player of all time. So either 85 or 87.
I will go with 1985 team. I voted for 87 but on 2nd thought 85 team because that was the better team and would have given us a 3 peat.

Yeah I was young at the time with those Bird teams and was a fan but wasn’t that knowledgeable.
2010 stunk but it was the KG injury in 2009 that did them in imo, they just didn’t have it. Same in 2022, great run but between the league playing matador for Draymond and the youth of the team and RobWill being hurt, they just didn’t have it that year.
Those mid-80s teams were juggernauts with all time greats.

Good point about the ‘85 team. A three-peat there means only that team, the Jordan Bulls and early 2000 Lakers have that in the modern era.

Beat me to it but 1985 for me easy. 3 peat.. Big Bird fan.. Plus we won game one by 45 points In think. Best offense I seen maybe ever that game. Still can't get over who we lost. 1987 the LAL had home court. But 85 we did..we should have taken care of business.
2 things need to go.. my lack of spell check and Joe..

2010 easy. I'll never forget how confident I felt in that game 7 leading LA at halftime. I really thought we had it... And not even putting up a fight in game 6 pissed me off. They just punted a whole finals game away. They did the same damn thing in 2012 in game 6 against MIA. If they had just played 2 close games, maybe they get lucky with one of them.. They only gave themselves a chance in 1 of 2. Such a shame. I loved that 2010 team.

Re: YOU have the power…
80's championships were before my time so while for legacy purposes they are probably ahead of the modern options, they're not ending up on my list.
2022 is going to be my choice. 2010 probably would have been more meaningful given the ageing core that we had and it being over the Lakers, but I also think that championship probably keeps the band together longer than it should have and we miss out on the Billy King Nets trade. Pivoting from that big 3 into a decade of winning basketball after basically only one down year has been a godsend.
So in terms of the butterfly effect I'm taking 2022 over 2010. Winning in 2022 might've precluded us from making the Smart for KP and Nesmith+ for Brogdon and Brogdan for Jrue trades, but think we'd still be in a really good place to keep coming back and contending for banners for years to come. Winning that year probably feels more like found money than the 2010 championship would, so again from an emotional perspective it might actually be the least satisfying of the 4 listed, but I'm still taking it.

Also not a finals but honorable mention - I wanted to the 2012 ECF vs. the Heatles so bad. Such an epic series and it really felt like we could do it as a last hurrah for the big 3
I struggle to call 2010 fair and square when the lakers were gifted 20+ ft's in the 4th qtr of game 7. Felt like the NBA was protecting Kobe's legacy

If I had the power, I would go back to 1986 and save Len Bias' life. I would not only save a life, but get the Celtics at least 3 more championships in the process because Len would have been that good. We would have dominated the Lakers in the 80's.

Re: YOU have the power…
2010 game seven was an agonizing loss. I had to wake up and drive some family to the airport very early the morning after game 7 and I was driving back home the 45 minutes back from the airport at like 5:30 AM. I was alone in the car in the pitch black morning and I just felt one of lowest feelings. There were some other health related problems happening in my life at that time that added to the misery, but that game 7 was such a tough loss
So I'll vote 2010. If we could've only manufactured a few more buckets and locked down a couple of more rebounds, we could've done it too. Worst loss as a Celtics fan probably for me.

I watched the whole thing standing up. Couldn't sit still. I think Doc broke down in the post-game interview and that sort of broke me too. Only comparable loss for me is the 2003 Red Sox.
I'd take 2010. Two titles for KG, PP, and RA (and RR) puts them in a different class historically. It would change the conversation about them. Especially considering the 09 team was the best of them all.
