Re: Where Jonathan Kuminga ends ?
At the end of the day, Kuminga's side mis-read the market, and the Warriors missed the opportunity to trade him for real assets when his value is still high when his relationship with Kerr went sour. I believe it was after the loss to Denver and it was leaked that his lost his trust in Kerr, they should have pull the trigger and get a real player back.
When is the last time a RFA situation became this toxic?

The 2005-06 Suns will always have a special place in my heart

Re: Where Jonathan Kuminga ends ?
The Warriors need to do a better job at evaluating and drafting. Warriors fans on Realgm could do a better job.
Drafting James Wiseman second overall and Jonathan Kuminga seventh overall have set the Warriors back. Good luck on a rebuild when the time comes.

This is all selt created from the Warriors side.
Players rejecting extensions is normal. What isn't normal is destroying that players value there after. They intentionally DNP'd him hoping to lower his value and they succeeded. Problem is they are trying to trade him. So asking for a 1st, a prospect and no bad contracts is delusion of the highest order.

Plus, he'll probably get endorsement deals during that time too.
I don't know about you, but I can figure out how to make 35 million last for a long time.
You should know theres a 4% limit to what a agent can take. So no, a player isnt getting 35 out of 90 but significantly more. On this board people think an agent gets 10% or more
If Kuminga can get 15-20 million dollars per year on a short deal, then he should take it. It'll set him up for life and he can worry about the rest later. There have been many players in Kumingas situation who don't work out in the NBA and eventually fade away (Jabari Parker comers to mind, even though he didn't have a contract situation like this).

This is the folly of the two timelines. The Warriors all seem to legitimately believe in Kuminga but also recognize that he doesn't help them win now. Specifically, the management side probably leans towards his development where Kerr doesn't want to play him. As you said, they should have moved on already.

The Golden State Warriors made another push to retain Jonathan Kuminga over the past several days, but the restricted free agent is continuing to decline their two-year, $45 million contract offer, sources told ESPN on Wednesday.

The ship has sailed Warrior fans. They should pivot for a sign-and-trade, and it'll likely be with the Kings or Bulls.

Shams said that the Warriors plan on cutting off sign and trade conversations entirely.
QO seems to be the move for Kuminga, play out next season, and then become a free agent the following year where you'll have all the leverage and can choose where you want to play.

But how did they do it. He's an RFA, did they tender him an offer sheet? That's the only way to make him an offer.

I think the Warriors plan is to have an empty cap sheet post Steph that's why they're hesitant to take on any contracts past this season.

Re: Where Jonathan Kuminga ends ?
I fking love it. It now comes down to 1. Suns Kings bent down and give us what we need or 2. Kuminga takes QA and sits out for the season.
Is his agent his dad or something? He is now facing the risk being out of the league without a serious paycheck lol

Idk how you could endorse this, feels like such a bad look for the Warriors from an optics standpoint. Post Curry era isn't going to be pretty.

I am sure he is. Warriors are better without kuminga. And if we can get any value from that would be a plus

But you're not getting anything valuable in return...instead you're going to waste whatever is left of Curry, Butler, and Greens career with a roster consisting of what 9 guys, only half of which are actually playable. This is a massive L for the Warriors, they should have moved him a long time ago.

That's on Joe Lacob and Bob Myers. Kuminga and Wiseman will continue to haunt them for many years to come.
