This Nance fellow, with his retro cap, looks the definition of an old school player. Lol.

Edit: forgot he was pulled already

After the phenomenal year Springer has had, and what feels like a slightly disappointing season Vladdy has had (until a 1-2 weeks ago) - incredible their numbers are quite similar

That’s the talent of Vladdy! If he stays hot, no reason he can’t have a 950 OPS by the end of the season

Wasting Fluharty in a 6 run game, cool

Also a fantastic addition to this team too

lol no, none of it is true

Kirk and Gimenez have been better defensive players.

Gimenez and Straw have been better base runners.

Varsho has hit 20 and 18 HR's the last 2 years, he's the best power hitter on the team only if you ignore the previous larger sample sizes.

I noticed you ignored the fantastic addition to the team part of the post, that reveals what you actually think of him

which is?

Royals trade for Randal Grichuk.
Not really good anymore but when I was looking at the D-Backs roster a few days ago, I saw Grichuk as a potential last resort for a RHB addition to balance the roster.

It’s a tacit concession of him being a fantastic addition to the team

I thought about him as a RHB we could trade for but he’s sort of trash

I gather the Royals aren’t selling now?

I'm OK with Fluharty here. He's still trying to build up confidence in my view in his return and is probably mid-leverage still. If we had brought in Green, we would have the finger ready to go on the Hoffman button the entire time.

After Hoffman, Rodriguez, Little, and Fisher in the pen, Nance might be the next best option until the deadline. Probably better to keep him relatively fresh in case they need him in middle innings tomorrow. No issues with it. I'd be more upset if he brought Hoffman in.

Gem of a performance by Gaus with the bats coming through late.

Fitting that Max gets to cap off the 4 game sweep in his birthday return to Detroit.
