This is utterly ridiculous to put us at 23 in a weak East adding Ingram after all our injuries last year. Most of these writers haven't watched a single game of ours since the chip. This is lazy reporting.

I'd be super happy for DeMar to get to Miami. Would make that team way better.

I think that's a generous rating for the Raptors.

I'm happy there are no leaks about the search for Ujiri's replacement. Rogers has hired CAA Executive Search to find a new president and I will judge the results when the person is hired.

There's an update on MLSE search

Seriously? I need you to explain your thinking, because I don't see any scenario where the bulls, celtics and Philly are better than us next season.

The Bulls never held on to Vuc for too long. Oh knows they lost out on a 2nd round draft pick last TDL. They overpaid when acquiring him because ownership wants to compete for play ins. I would have said hell no to the offers teams like GSW made for him too. A second round pick does them little help.

Speaking of rage bait, I wonder what became of Dolan's sue the Raptors Hail Mary. Anyone? Media family entitled spawn owns the Knicks. Trump pet friendly media czar and like spawn owns mlse. This gets settled on the golf course is my guess. Or, maybe some new President with business accumen on their resume gets a resolution blessed by Silver.

I wouldn't say generous but it's fairly accurate.

Raps have to prove themselves this year. Simple. No one will give us any benefit from soft east. Go out and show it

We were 24th while tanking. So either
A. you are saying half a season of tanking is to drop one spot? Tell that to TWO
B. You are convinced Raps tank again (possible if they get injured again)
C. You were not thinking it through, brain farts happen.
All valid possibilities. Or otherwise what I am missing, I dont see the logic in what you said, other than point B which is possible.

-We are not limited in any direction in terms of financials or flexibility.
-Toronto has never operated as a cap space team & never will. Fans tend to forget or disregard those points
This isn't so much that we should free up cap space to sign people in FA, but rather why make a move so soon that puts us into the tax which we all feel pretty confident they will try to find a way to get out of later.
you had to fill out the roster, any player will put you into tax. lets say they had signed martin to 14th contract, they would be into tax, and no way out besides trading one of the 14, and everyone has some value.
by signing temple and waiting to convert Martin to standard contract, you can trade temple at deadline and upgrade martin to standard contract and stay under tax.
Who would trade for Temple without us attaching a 2nd round pick? That would be like giving the team we trade Temple to, Martin as well, for nothing in return (other then getting under the tax. Just NOT signing Temple would have been the way to go. I'll never understand why they signed him when they did. Sure, if you want your guy showing up in 'players only' meetings, while effectively only being a 4 coach on the team, then go ahead and sign him, but only for whatever cash under the tax is left, and only at the end of free agency.
Seriously, who was the favor owed to and why? The timing and the contract size just made no sense at all.

Vucevic could have netted a first round pick if they had moved him a couple seasons ago. They could have gotten two firsts for Caruso, a first for Lonzo and they completely botched the LaVine trade. Just an example of poor mismanagement and planning

You are overestimating the return, like people did it with Masai trades. It takes someone willing to do those trades.
Only a contender or s stupid GM would've gone for those players. Perhaps the returns were low, it's not like teams were lining up for Vuc, nor Lavine due to salary and injuries. In terms of contenders they don't pay that much. Now stupid GMs could have tried perhaps, but it's not so easy to convince them.

I'm talking about Vucevic not the other guys. They gave up a lot for him. Dumping him for a late first two season ago for what? They still plan to chase that playoff hope so what do they gain.
