He really isn't, though.

His fanbase has a rabid subset which tries to wildly overrate him, so he gets some pushback from that. Mostly, that's it. Generally speaking, he's well-regarded, considered among the best in league history, ranks highly among SGs all-time, etc, etc. He's not really underrated here much at all, until some of his cultists come along spewing nonsense. His is hardly the only fanbase which suffers from that issue. Insecure Jordan and Kobe fans create a LOT of issues in otherwise reasonable conversation. And overzealous Lebron fans do the same, at times, certainly. That's the nature of large fandoms. *shrug*
