What a sad news. Reminds how life is so fragile and can end at any time. Condolences to Jota family and anybody affected by this.

Awful news about Jota and his brother. This has left me feeling pretty shaken up, can't imagine how their families must be feeling.

Rest in peace.

Just heartrending. I lost my wife last year, and I can't think of a much greater pain than losing the love of your life so young. Really feel for Rute and their kids.
It's time for 5 refs.

Ekitike is reportedly a done deal.

Quite an offseason so far! Would love to get Rodrygo.

We still have alot of business to do actually....if you can believe it.
A) Apparently Diaz wants out. Not sure why (think it has to do with salary), but assuming it's true, we gotta move him.
B) Nunez out. I don't know 1000% if this happens....but does seem 99% likely.
C) Real shame here....but I guess Konate wants to leave. Head scratcher, but apparently he refuses to sign another contract, and plans to move to Madrid for free next season (another TAA deal). Madrid have talked about some scraps.....like a $25-30 mil offer to get him now...knowing they will get him for free next year. Not sure where this goes. We'll certainly need a replacement if he does leave. I'd also make a stand if I'm Liverpool, and sit him the entire season. If he's not committed, and plans to just walk next year on a free....then I don't want you wearing the jersey. We just dealt with that with the last traitor. Hopefully something gets worked out. Sadly, I'd say just take the 25-30 mil if it comes to it. Get him out.
D) Surely either Robertson or Tsimikas (spelling) will be shipped out.
E) Harvey Elliot looks to leave. He needs more playing time, like Kellaher. Sad to lose both of them, but I totally get it.
F) I'd say we need to get a new CB no matter how the Konate thing sorts out. VVD is no spring chicken. We prob need 2 if Konate leaves (Quanza left a week or so ago) to get some depth there.
G) I think we need to make sure we get McCallister signed up and happy. I smell Madrid and Barca moving for him in a year or so. Not saying he can't leave if he wants to....but let's get 4years on his deal, so the little Fkers have to actually pay a fair price like the rest of us.
H) Still talk of Isak and Rodrygo joining. Would be awesome.

Going to be a pretty different team, when it's all said and done. As wonderful as this summer has been.....we really need to sort this Konate thing out, and bring in replacements at CB. This is where we're gonna get bit, if we don't seriously address this issue. VVD has already lost a step. We'd be fools to trot him out there game after game again. We need to start grooming someone to take the Carboa cup, FA cup, and the occasional Prem game from him. The turn around is in the horizon.

Never considered Isak a realistic option once Newcastle United finished top 5.

As such, Ekitike was the one I targeted for LFC. Despite the fee, glad to see it come to fruition:

Paul Joyce saying Liverpool, despite signing Ekitike, still in for Isak.

Diaz and Nunez not in the squad for today’s preseason match against AC Milan…

Impressed with Liverpool's transfer dealings this summer. 75m for a player that wanted to leave is good business, even if it is a good player like Diaz. I guess the two years left on his contract factored into that.

If they sign Isak now, it goes from a great window to an unbelievable one. Rare to see defending champs reload quite like this.

It's great value, but Lucho will be missed. Absolutely worked his socks off for the club whenever he stepped on the pitch. Great player and glad he's leaving on a high note.

One of the reasons why I detest him. Glad he's not in the PL anymore... and since we're in no other comps this year we have no chance of lining up against Bayern.

Yeah, I'm really bummed he left. Not sure why, but apparently he wanted out last season as well. I think he wanted more $$$, and felt slighted. Who knows....but if you don't want to be there, then prob best that you leave.

Will be missed though. Damn good player

Unless I missed something from yesterday, we're still badly in need of a CB. All the Konate chatter seems to have simmered down (Be prepared to watch him leave on a free next year) but we're still thin, and one injury away from a full disaster. I don't think we have anyone even 3-notches down from either Konate or VVD. And now Gomez is hurt again??

I don't want to call it a desperate situation.....but we'd do well to sign a young CB, and someone at least serviceable.

Otherwise, yes.....it's been quite an offseason. Strange to see defending champs come back looking so different.
