We also drafted Nesmith and Langford in the lottery.

Well, I said I want a amid to high lottery pick so I thought it was understood I. Did not mean the last pick in the lottery As in langford and aaron neesmith. So my point is the same. I do not want a mid-level pick. I want a high pick. getting Vuc would put us nowhere near a top pick.

Despite this being true IMO, I don't think there's much risk if he's on the minimum, so why not.

I guess Stevens and Chisholm really are trying to make the Boston Celtics the laughing stock of the NBA.

The team that holds the record for most 3-pts made and attempted in a season signing the most inept shooter in all of basketball is so ironic that it just might happen.

Is there any source other than "Ary" reporting the Simmons-to-Celtics thing?

guess they plan to surround him of shooters so he can do his thing, stay in the post passing, help with good defense and some rebounds. maybe can coexist with garza or niang, one brings defense and the other scoring.
not sure a big defensive boy for the minimum can be a problem. no risk, if it doesnt work you get rid of him.
just hope we are not done and the hauser trade is coming, so we save money and can bring something else to the table.

bridge year, my friends. drink your bourbon and fasten seat belts.

they're gonna encourage him to shoot 3s and unlock that part of his game. wouldn't be shocking

If the Celtics sign Simmons it means they are tanking because that's the only thing Simmons is good for at this stage of his career.

I'm intrigued..

Read on Twitter

Just surround him with shooters.

Play him as a small ball 5..or sometimes you can play him at the 4 with Garza at the 5..That's defensively, though..on offense he could basically be a pass-first PG..pushing the pace, spraying the ball around to open shooters..you can also have someone else up top initiating the action and Simmons in the dunker's spot as the 5..

I have no problem if they sign both Vucevic and Simmons to Two Year Deals and waive/trade Tillman/Walsh...

Who is this guy?

Also if Simmons comes here then great. He better be willing to put in the work and not have “back issues” because the Lakers chose Smart over him. If he can somehow get back to his All Star ability or close to it then obviously it’s a massive win even though this dude cannot shoot. Please don’t have him jack up 3s.

I call your claim of the worst offseason in the history of the team and raise you the 1997 offseason which included Travis Knight signing a mega deal at that time of 7/22. Also losing that guy named Duncan in the draft. Oh and essentially firing Red for Pitino. I don’t think any offseason for the Celtics will ever match that. Letting Rick Fox go was a nice touch.

Nah. Defense would be atrocious with Simons + Vucevic.

Keep Simons, flip Tillman, sign Ben Simmons.

Much better balance between scoring, shooting, defense and passing..

I think you almost have to sign Vucevic if he’s cut. At this point the Celtics are really the last dance partner for starting a starting center other than GSW. If you do hypothetically sign Vuc and Simmons to 2 year deals since 1 year isn’t doing a damn thing then you have a solid team to go for a title in 2026-2027

"Our new shooting guard"

Read on Twitter

D-white at PG, Simons at SG.

Remember, Joe announced publicly 2 summers ago that D-white was his starting PG..that was after Smart was traded but before we acquired Jrue.

Now, with Jrue gone and Tatum injured, we can slide D-white in as the full time starting PG..

JB at the 3, Tatum at the 4 when he comes back. Pritchard stays in the 6th man role he excelled at last season..
