Denver landed Braun but then the whole youth movement thing sort of fizzled out after that. Brooklyn seemed to play tough even though they weren’t good. I suppose Claxton and Cam Thomas were decent finds.

As long as he’s best buds with Jokic then I’m happy about it.

I think he was with Denver longer than the Nets. Nets may have been just last season and this past draft.

Denver he was around for Braun and someone mentioned Holmes last season who I forgot about.

Brooklyn had no draft picks in 24'.

This year they went full international which may have something to do with Nicholas's international ties.

Fernandez is also well versed in the international game, so that could have played a part in their draft pick selections this year. I just saw that Fernandez was an assistant coach for Spain from 17'-19'. Although Oooogo' was too young, I'm sure he had insight on him prior to the 25' draft. He had 2 chances to pick him at 26 and 27 but he went Saraf and Wolf. I found that interesting.

You're talking about Drew Nicholas in your post as well as Jordi Fernandez. So I'm not sure who you mean by "he".

But the man who has had final say on all of Brooklyn's recent roster decisions (draft, trades, FA, etc.) is POBO, Sean Marks.

We have no idea what input (if any) Jordi had..and we don't know what Nicholas had to say about anything.

All we know for sure is Marks had final say on their picks this year.

And that moat people think Brooklyn had a really bad draft, with Demin being a big reach at pick at, drafting 3 PG's in the 1st round, Powell was likely a bit of a reach as well..

Powell is kind of like Braun and Watson though so maybe Drew Nicholas liked him. But again, we don't really know for sure with this stuff..

Marks definitely had the final say, I'm just talking about Nicholas possibly having international scouting ties and Fernandez having international ties.

As for Fernandez I was saying it's interesting to me with his ties to the Spanish team that Oooogo' wasn't even worked out (reported wise) by Brooklyn. That is something I just looked into.

NBA Ready, by February???

Edit:
Jayson Tatum suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon on May 12, 2025, during Game 4 of the Eastern Conference semifinals against the New York Knicks.

February would be 9 months.
April (Playoffs) would be 11 months.

April (Playoffs) would be 11 months.

Sweet spot would be March where there will be 20 games left to play.

But if the Cs are struggling and just a play-in team then no need for JT to return.

Some don't believe JT will return in 2026, but according to reports I read, having surgery 12 hrs after suffering the injury really makes a difference in the healing process.

I read that too.

In general, the earlier the surgical repair, the better the outlook. That’s because waiting too long allows scar tissue and inflammation to settle in, complicating healing.

Agreed.
If we get 6th seed or higher, and bypass the Play-in, then:

Suffers career ending injury because he tries to rush coming back from torn achilles?

No thanks.

Better to play it safe with our franchise player who is o a supermax contract.

The reward is not worth the risk.

Let him take his time and ensure a more safe recovery, reducing the chances that he gets hurt agin by rushing back too soon.

Just aim for bringing him back opening night 2026, please.

So what 7' rabbit is Brad going to pull out of his hat for us? I'd think at least one of the 2 open camp slots would go to a center?

2 open spots on offseason/training camp roster. 1 standard roster spot is open but will probably not get filled because 14 is the minimum and signing a 15th guy would put us back over the 2nd apron.

Is this count still the same; no changes, Hal?

Didn't the St John's kid sign an Exhibit 10 yesterday?

Our Summer League guy?
Did he even play?

Time to Update, if he did sign.

For one thing, Two-Ways shouldn't count against the Roster limit. Same as it doesn't in some other Sports.

The NBA Rules are too constraining.
Preseason Roster Limits in other Pro Sports, compared to their Regular Season Limits, are as follows.:

Sport | Offs'n | Regular
NFL ---- 90 ---- 53
MLB --- 40 ---- 25
NHL --- 50 ---- 23
MLS --- 30 ---- 20
NBA --- 21 ---- 18

Again, we should have 25 Players in Camp.

Nobody liked my argument, huh?
We need to seriously work more on Developing the G League.

Hopefully, Fred VanVleet being elected the new President of the NBPA will make a difference.
As he started out being assigned and playing in the G League, for Raptors 905.

I'm more emphatic about having them go to four 2-way contracts. This way you can work on full 5 player units if you send your draft pick down there.
