I don’t think anybody would have squawked had we made that pelican deal.

Kuminga acquisition is unnecessary. Seems redundant with Dunn and Fleming. Please, no more knuckleheads.

Recent hindsight has been very harsh on this franchise. Maybe this Maluach kid pans out, but that trade was a bird in the hand moment.

The Suns have rebuilt their scouting department and the last two years their drafts have been good. Under James Jones it was bad for the most part.

Who have we drafted good?

Dunn and Oso last year.

Not going to lie. Dunn looks good on defense but thats it. Let's see if he can do anything else

TBH at that time, if we made that deal, I bet Suns fans would have said "we had a center and passed on it, and been upset about it". just what suns fans do.

This place is getting too negative. We drafted 3 promising rookies and have added more youth and grit.
We go into next season with no expectations and can be excited to watch the team grow.

As for the Pels deal, I think people are scared because Maluach had a meh summer league. Brea had a good SL. Suddenly you'd think Brea is the next coming of Booker and Maluach is a bust.

We can't truly rebuild until 2032 anyway so let's enjoy this team until then.

I would have for sure. You're basically taking a flyer on the 23rd pick and that's it.
Then you hope things work out next year and the Pels are really bad. Maluach, you know what you're getting and can start to develop.

If the Pels land a top 4 pick, it is what it is.

Wait till Pels get the top pick next year, and suns fans bring this back up and cry about it!

I am cheering on Maluach, and I have patience. Kid will be 21/22 in 3 years. That is the age of a lot of the players who will be drafted in 3 years. Let the guy learn and play! He has the right mindset and measurements.

I think the Pelicans are going to be pretty bad so the potential to get a top 10 pick plus the 23 would have been better to me than Malauch but lets just hope over time Malauch grows into the position.

Plus I just think the Suns need more picks. Not less. More flexibility.

I wouldn't have done the Pelicans trade. Malauch will be good just give him a bit to develop.

Only if we used that 2026 pick for a better veteran. Pg or Pf. Suns are horrible at drafting. So now we will never know.

We just have been drafting only for the last two seasons.

Last year it was a successful draft for us. We got Dunn and Oso with only the #22 pick in the draft and we get an extra 2nd IIRC.

Dunn looks an steal and he would be a lottery pick in a redraft.

Oso is an intriguing PF/C who can have a long career in the NBA. It's not a known commodity but he has some potential. We will see.

And this year we got a top prospect in Maluach at #10, Fleming at #31 who looks a modern 3&D PF and Brea at #41. Most of the experts agree about it.

On paper we are great for these two last drafts.

I'm just saying, wasn't everyone stoked that Maluach fell to us? Was there a single fan here who was upset we took him or didn't trade back (not knowing what offers were out there)?

Why are people suddenly upset at this? Sure, it's possible the Pels land a top pick. But it's also possible they are late lottery, and we get a player we don't want.

Take the sure thing. Also, we have no control over any of this. The new front office was fully aware of what we're aware of and it didn't change anything.

Dunn and Oso last year.

Oso is a g-leaguer for life at best. He’s a dime a dozen. Dunn had a some really high highs and some really low lows. But Dunn has a lot of potential. He should be a starter one day. But his offensive game has to grow. Right now he’s not threat on offense. He’s a SF. He can’t get away with just being great at defense and nothing else, like a center can.

Just leaving out Maluach the player, to me I think the better gamble would've been #23 and a lotto pick in 2026 as opposed to keeping #10 in 2025

We did really well last year. Moved down 5 spots from #23 to #28 to still get the guy we wanted and grabbed #56 and two future second round picks. We then moved up 16 spots from #56 to #40 and gave up a future 2nd for Oso who was worth a gamble. From a pure asset play, we get an A+

This year, it was closer to a D, especially in light of what that #10 could've gotten us from the Pelicans.

I was more excited that we didn't take Queen at 10 but understood why we took KM. Highest ceiling, clearly BPA but he was also a major project and my preference would've been trading down
