Golden State Warriors receive: G Ayo Dosunmu, F/C Jalen Smith, CHI 2029 1st-round pick (Lottery-protected, becomes two 2nd-round picks in '29, '30 if not conveyed), CHI 2028 2nnd-round pick

If the Bulls are trading a FRP for Kuminga, make it 2027 lottery protected (that draft year is projected to be bad), otherwise I wouldn't be interested in a trade for Kuminga, especially already giving up Ayo and Smith.

marc stein just posted something saying the best offers from GS to kuminga "have topped out in the two-year $40 million range"

it's so funny to posture like you want multiple assets for a guy you aren't willing to pay any more than that

Ah, yes. The Bulls who currently don't want to pay Giddey anything close to 30M AAV, are going to pay Kuminga 29M AAV and send assets in return.

Per wiretap: The Warriors latest offer is 2yrs 40m.

Warriors want a FRP at least for Kuminga.

Pass. The value is tipped in our favor if it's for Vuc. The moment Ayo gets involved, it's a no go for me.

I would pass too. I'm ok including Ayo and Smith, but nfw am I including a first in a deal for him.

Again, I'm comforted that there are no stories of the Bulls recently inquiring about a deal.

They are trying to sign him to a deal that is easy to trade for a 1st or more, assuming he plays well.

But that also seems like less than we are offering Giddey (though not necessarily a lot less per year).

It must be the dog days of summer when a thread about a player, not on our team, has 31 pages of discussion!

If the Bulls do, you would be complaining to much to ever hear it.

NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

We could still sign Amare this offseason. He's available.

Looks like the price is something like 4 for 90 plus whatever the Warriors would want in a sign and trade.

I'd still do it if the cost is like Ayo + a lottery protected pick (maybe one that becomes two 2nds after a year), ultimately the Bulls have a very set floor and a very low ceiling and Kuminga I think both lowers our floor and raises our ceiling. Whatever it takes to get out of the middle.

Well said, but I'd be hard pressed to offer a protected 1st. Maybe if it ridded us of Pat or Vuc, but doubt it even then. Anyway, we're not in on this deal, so it's all hypothetical.

I’m not giving up a 1sr round pick for Kuminga. We should not be taking any cues from Phoenix awful management on trades or what to pay a player either.

Warriors stopping all S&T is a killer for Kuminga.

In recent days, they have begun signaling a plan to cut off sign-and-trade conversations entirely, using their restricted free agency leverage to the fullest, sources said. Their current stance is that Kuminga will be on the Warriors' roster to begin next season -- either through their two-year offer on the table or the standing $7.9 million one-year qualifying offer, whichever is Kuminga's preferred path.

Man what a toxic situation.
Kuminga believes accepting the Warriors' two-year offer with a team option, along with forfeiting trade veto rights, cedes too much control to a franchise he believes has stunted and strung his career along for four seasons, sources said.
