Re: Warriors exploring S&T for Kuminga
It's not just about how low Kuminga will take from another team, but akso how low the warriors will go in return for kuminga.
Trading him for nothing isn't in the cards because jk is the last tradeable piece to get a difference maker at the deadline.
Getting carter/saric vs kcp or brooks is quite a gap.

Re: Warriors exploring S&T for Kuminga
I think it’s too late to do the Carter/saric deal. Saric can’t be combined in any trade. Carter/ Ellis fits if were to believe kings are offering less than 20 mil a season. Brooks would be nice, but would have to add Hield or moody in the trade. Warriors are said to want a first, and I don’t know if phx has any trade able firsts. Kcp didn’t look too good last year but maybe it was just the fit
I can hawk a loogie eight feet in the air and catch it with my tongue.

Onus wrote:It’s only gsw choice if the ask is above what they’re willing. Like if jks ask was 15m gsw would’ve signed him. So it’s a 2 way street to go to rfa.
Because Ellis is essentially a lower tier white. So getting a white type player for jk should be something you’re into.
Dray and iggy were done by Myers and Myers conceded to their demands. 3M is not a bridge too far to come together when it really has no repercussion for the warriors to go up 3M.
Knowing that the warriors have the highest monetary value yes it would be in jk’s best interest to sign that deal. The warriors could always lower the offer to match what the other offers are, hell they could lower than what the other offers are and jk wouldn’t be able to negotiate for more since in order for another team to even make an offer at this point they would need to make moves to exceed their current offer which wouldn’t even guarantee that jk would be coming. Like for jk to sign with the kings he would have to accept the mle, or to sign with phx it would be even less. If those teams would want to up their offer they would have to trade off assets to even make a greater offer than the mle and then we could still match it and then they would be assed out of that asset. So yea it’s actually in jk’s best interest to take the best monetary offer that is available to him now before we lower our offer. But our front office wants to keep things amicable since they still do want jk back which is why they aren’t forcing the issue.
Sure, if jk agreed to the moody deal, they would have signed him while keeping their flexibility. That would not have been my advice to his camp.
We have lower tier whites. Like podz, moody, and Melton. My whole problem with Ellis is that I'm not sure her Kerr plays him over podz while I have no such doubts with white.
The gm might be different but ownership plays a big role in this FO. FA being a major place, imo.
Who knows what offers are out there between now and Halloween. We saw 250m waived and stretched so anything is possible. If he does end up signing something like 2/50, I think it'll be the team that was comfortable waiting, not him.

After Brooks's time in Mem and subsequent beef with dray, I am shocked some warriors fans would welcome him here. I think he would NOT fit with this culture or coach.

Shams:
Warriors up to 2/45, but want a team option in 2nd year. They want nothing from the suns and kings. And are considering shutting down s and t options.
Kuminga continues to reject the warriors offers. He will consider taking the qo offer to become an unrestricted free agent. His agent asked for at least 3/82 from the Warriors just recently.
This is getting uuugggggggllllllyyyyy.
I can't believe this how stephs final years are going to play out

Said the same thing about cp3.
If trading jk at the deadline is an option, there aren't many players in the 20-30M range with less than 2 years on their contracts. Brooks and kcp were the only 2 likely possibilities. Shooting and defense. If you add shot creation, those aren't available.

Told you 2/46 wasn’t going to be accepted by jk.
Jk turning down an extra 15m in year 1 is going to be something.

I edited my post to add that his camp is asking for at least a 3/82 deal.

Yikes a bit of a disrespectful offer by the Warriors. I can see why he wants out of here lol.
Rumor is the Suns or Kings were offering a 4/90 deal.

Should have traded his ass with cp3 for siakam. And yes siakam mentioned that he wouldn't play for gsw, but so did jimmy.

According to Slater/Shams, a major sticking point in 2/45 offer is the Warriors' insistance that JK waive the built in trade veto that comes with a 2nd year option. This is a new wrinkle in the CBA that allows for that.

2/45 is the same as 4/90. The team option for year 2 is wild work by MDJ. Thinks JK has more value as an expiring contract than on a 2 year contract worth 45M.

Why would he be worried about a no trade clause. Only terrible teams want him and he wants a place to showcase his talent. There's no way that's the sticking point in not signing that deal. Seriously a 1 year 22.5M offer is better than a 1 year 8M offer. He really going to throw away 14.5M to be petty?

Not the same at all since it's really just a one year deal and no security at all for JK.

If it wasn't the no trade clause, it'd be something else. I just don't think he wants to be a warrior anymore.
An expiring 23M contract is much much easier to move at the deadline. It's clear they don't think much of jk, but they also don't want to give him away for nothing.
Only losers in this situation.

He wants to be a free agent and leave the warriors. Getting a 1 year 22.5M deal and then becoming a free agent the next year like he wants to do should be seen as great for him. It definitely beats taking the QO.
That 4/90 offer is likely not a real offer. The kings sure as hell do not value him and the Suns isn't even a real option. They can tell JK that's what they would give him but until they actually put in writing it's just telling him what he wants to hear.
