It's cool...you want to be an internationally popular team.

But...for a contender-hopeful, it's burdensome travel & distraction during an 82 game grind.

It's not as bad as it seems. The NBA builds in some pretty significant breaks on either side of the trip.

The Spurs last year had 3 days off before the trip to Paris and 3 more days off after the trip to Paris. Basically, it's only 2 games in a 10-day window.

A charter jet from Florida to Europe is not significantly worse than a charter jet from Florida to Portland.

Pacers played against the Spurs in Paris, France this past season (January 2025) and they went to the Finals.

The magic actually have a decent fan base in the UK (Orlando is a huge travel destination for people from the UK) and with the magic having 3 German players the Berlin game should be a good one for the magic as well. This was a smart choice for the NBA sending the magic. Now the grizzles as the opponent is a bit odd. Should have been another east coast team. The bane connection I guess is there.

Shame the games aren't the other way around as Jan 15th is my birthday. I will try and get tickets to the London one.

Looks like it's gonna bleed 500 euro out me but f it. If I'm fast enough to get tickets, I'm there. I have like 5 hours drive from Bavaria to Berlin.

yay???

Just curious though... why the same opponent in 2 different countries? Cant they make it into a foursome or something?

Also, I get Germany and us... but why MEM?

Because MEM will likely gain zero international fans from the endeavor and that will be used to help justify the league’s impending plans to move the franchise out of Memphis? *shrug*

It’s great for the exposure Orlando and our stars will get.

Travel sucks.
