Dunn and Ighodaro are kind of interesting.

Sure, but that's not much salary. Not a problem for the Warriors, but a huge problem for the Suns, even if they wanted to do something along those lines.

The team and the player are really pretty close ($7M over two years) and will, very likely, come to an agreement with JK staying, at least, until Feb. People should start accepting that inevitability.

How soon can Williams be traded?
I want to say 60 days from when he was acquired (June 30th; so August 29th) if his salary is aggregated with other salaries from the Suns. If traded alone, immediately.
EDIT: The above 60 day requirement appears to only apply for players acquired with an exception. Spotrac (which could be wrong) allows Williams to be aggregated in a trade now. But the Suns have a lot of salary to be moved to make this happen, and much of it can't go to the Warriors.
Edit: Too many mistakes by me. 60 days is the answer.

Re: Warriors exploring S&T for Kuminga
JK is a cyanide tablet for us. If we pay him what he wants or even close, then we will be forced to play him because otherwise that contract becomes…toxic asset. Don’t you people see it? And if we play him, then it’s almost guaranteed to be a disaster. I just don’t see how this ends well. At this point I think GS just has to get off him. Yes they burned an asset. It sucks. But don’t make it worse. Sunk cost fallacy and all.

Make him sign the QO. At least if the Warriors are going to get screwed, don't overpay for that mistake.
There doesn't appear to be a good ending here for the Warriors unless some team is will to make a decent offer in a S&T. No one has done that. In fact, I bet they would love nothing more than to get Kuminga with very little assets just to stick it to Lacob.

NBA Today reports.
Suns offered Royce O’Neale, Nick Richards and 4 second rounders
Kings offered a protected first and a “potential rotation player”. GS wants the first unprotected

So we're being unrealistic...

Negotiation by media. It's a great time out!
Beyond the fact that the Suns are sending too much salary to the Warriors, that seems like a pretty mediocre return. Of course, that may be all they get: mediocre return in a S&T.

I think it's better for everyone if JK goes elsewhere, but you're talking about him like he's some guy who completely washed out. I think his depressed value right now has a lot more to do with the financial restrictions most teams have than his talent, and the unfortunate 2-for-1 salary restriction on any pre-season trade. If they can get him for around $25M/yr over 2-3 years they should do it, and so should he, because that's going to be a tradable contract during the season (or at worst, in the next offseason) for a guy who is still very young, a top 1% athlete in the league, and has shown some actual skills (granted, they come and go). Plus it unfreezes Horford and Melton and whatever else they want to do, and retains a medium-ish salary slot if a big deal becomes available, which can be very useful to facilitate any trade.
The question is why wait until the very end to do it? Warriors can't risk letting him play for the QO and JK probably doesn't want that either, and must be realizing by now there are no other big deals coming before the season with all the restrictions in place to save him. Can they sign him to a 1 year deal? Just pitch him on hey you want out, here's $25M instead of $10M and we're trading you at the deadline, you can be out and then set your desired extension price not even a year from now. We can't guarantee you a starting role for those few months or even a set number of minutes, but we'll try to get you in there for 20-25 minutes per game (he played 24 last year), every game, to stay fresh and on the radar.

On a one-year signed deal, Kuminga would have the right to decline any trade, I believe. Definitely playing for the QO.

Really depends on who the rotation player is. If it's Ellis or Murry, I'll take the protected pick (or maybe not even a pick), if it's trash players then yeah, I wan't those protections lifted. Or maybe I'd take the protected pick plus a future pick swap. But I think I understand why Lacob doesn't want a protected pick...it could be not so much the hope to get a top-5 pick, but more that if he wants/needs to use that pick in a trade (Giannis or whatever), the protections make the surrounding years' picks problematic because you can't know ahead of time if that middle pick conveys or not.

Richards and Ighodara, add filler, and throw in a 1st swap with the 2nds and we're done here.

Just a week ago you were fine with a 'goldilocks' contract in the low 20s. It's looking more and more like a 2 year deal starting at 23 or so. It's now a cyanide tablet? What changed? His unwillingness to give up the NTC in a TO 2nd year?

Those are garbage offers. GARBAGE. JK is an actual player, not this poo-poo platter.

Somehow next year when he's an UFA after the QO, he's earning $0 but on a team option is earning 23M? GTFO

I reallly don't understand doing this. It's so easy to make an 'eye opening' point that, playing on the QO would require JK's contract in 26-27 to be 38M to make up the 14M he's forgoing by playing on the QO and the $23M he'd be slated to make in 26-27.
That's a real statement that is eye opening AND just happens to be actually correct.
