Mavs are looking to add guards, not PFs, and they've turned against Kuzma since he shot them down 2 years ago.

Send Kuz to Sacto and Monk to Dallas

Yup, that works, and is somewhat likely

How would Malik Monk or Devin Carter fit in our rotation do we think?

Monk would be a hedge on KPJ flaming out since he attacks the rack and creates but he's only 6'3, isn't a great shooter, and doesn't play defense.

His contract's also got an extra year on it vs Kuzma and which of them will be more valuable as part of a package come draft day is a consideration.

Devin Carter in theory could be a defensive stopper but if he's an undersized 2 with nothing to offer offensively would that be worth whatever other salary we'd need to take on (DeRozan or something from whoever is getting Monk)?

Lineup looks something like:

PG: KPJ, Ryan Rollins, Cole Anthony
SG: [Monk or Carter], GTJ
SF: AJ Green, [SF as part of the trade if it's Carter]
PF: Giannis, Prince
C: Turner, Bobby, Sims

Malik Monk season in review, B grade:

Let’s get into the good and the bad, starting with his numbers for the 2025 season. Monk averaged 17.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, 5.6 assists, and 2.4 turnovers per game with 43.9/32.5/86.5 shooting splits.

Malik was especially good when getting to the rim, where he shot 63% this season, and being in attack mode was always a welcome sight for Sacramento. Monk also led the league in points per possession off screens with 1.68 (among players with 0.5 possessions per game). Not only is Malik leading in PPP off screens, but he’s also shooting a ridiculous 69% with a 94% effective field goal percentage.

Last, but certainly not least, Malik was incredible on drives all season. Monk was fourth in the entire league in assist percentage off of drives among players with 10+ drives per game, while averaging fewer turnovers than Darius Garland, Trae Young, and Tyler Herro in front of him. One positive of trading De’Aaron Fox was getting to see Malik handle the ball more, which led to a ton of highlights.

As much as I’d love to just end the article with the good, there were definitely some rough parts of Malik Monk’s season.
As always with Malik, defense was a problem. Monk has never been an elite defender, but sharing the court with De’Aaron Fox, who is a solid point of attack defender, definitely made things easier.

This season, Malik spent a ton of time in the backcourt with Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan, who are not the defenders that Fox is, and the results weren’t great. Monk was a part of Sacramento’s worst defensive lineup with over 100 minutes this season, along with LaVine, DeRozan, Domantas Sabonis, and Keegan Murray.

Unfortunately, Malik’s struggles weren’t confined to the defensive end. Monk also struggled from three-point range all season, shooting only 32.5%, well below league average. Monk was at his worst on “above the break” threes, where he had the most attempts, converting only 30.8% of his shots. Malik isn’t necessarily one of the best shooters in the NBA, but shooting 2.5% worse than his career average from three really hurt Sacramento’s offense this season.

Monk doesn't fit at all really imo, he's short, doesn't play defense and had a bad 3p year last year which is why no one really wants him in today's nba. If were just giving up Kuzma then fine he can come off the bench with Bobby and that's elite scoring from the 6th/7th man slot. As a starter in a playoff rotation though eh don't like it.

That's also why, in theory, he's available for blah pieces like Kuzma so you'd be buying low hoping for boost due to Giannis. I'd wage a pretty penny his 3pt% would go way up playing with Giannis. We still lack ball handlers, especially if Porter were to flame out, and Monk can handle backup PG type duties for 8-12 mins a game in a pinch. My understanding of his issues last year is he was forced to play PG way too much so he struggled, get him back to a secondary guy focused on shooting and there's a good chance he could more or less be a better version of Trent, but more ballhandling ability.

Not like I'm looking to get him big time or anything since we got similar guys for league min the last 2 offseasons. But if its just Kuzma then yea its a no brainer, he's much more needed than him

kuzma for monk makes us dynamically worse on both ends if theyre getting any serious minutes. off the bench or in a secondary role at least kuzma helps with our depth chart if injuries occur. he also defends positions with mediocrity that we have literally nobody else on the roster like him that can do it. some of these trade ideas are just becoming silly for real

If the Bucks believe in KPJ I’ve got a hard time seeing us go for Monk.

Cole Anthony seems like a poor man’s version of him already (undersized not great shooter or defender but attacks the rack) who we probably promised a role to sign here. And there’s the extra year on Monk’s deal vs Kuzma.

Whether or not the Bucks really believe in “Scoot” to this extent or are just biding our time for the right guy is a legitimate question though. If KPJ flames out the Bucks will have a giant void in playmakers much less a #2 offensive option.

That new court is awesome. The Cream city jerseys are fine, not my favorite from the city editions they've worn(shoutout to the Yellow Mecca jerseys), but I'm glad they are going away from Blue for atleast this season

Yeah that court looks great. This court and those cream unis should be a staple going forward.

Keep the cream alts permanently and scrap the blue for good.

Seeing those images of the court got me pumped for season.

So they finally figured out how to have the cream court again with TV. I like it.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I think they went heavy on the "Sky Blue" the last few years because it's close to Greece colors and it's Giannis favorite color, but I'm very glad they are going back to the cream. I'd be fine phasing out the blue or just using it in little dashes like on the new court and jersey.

I still really like the Mecca uniforms as well as our alternates in 2019-20. Ditch the blue
