his jumper is really coming around, it feels smoother than Scotties. Scottie has that weird hitch/reload at the top of his jumper. Almost like he has to regather right before he lets it go. CBM seems to have one consistent motion.

There was a clip showing Scottie working on the corner 3 in the summer run thread. He has a bigger dip and slight pause before the release, it felt there is more movement and much slower compared to CMB’s shooting form.

It read as a pointless jab with no real other purpose. Sorry if I misinterpreted.

Regardless, it is indeed a start, his form looks decent, so here's hoping he can turn himself into enough of a shooter that he can get out on the floor capably with basically anyone. That'd be super awesome.

No, no not a jab lol. I posted his workout dude. This kid has a strong work ethic by the looks of it and has it between the ears. Rooting for him.

Yes, he looks like a good one, and seems to have his head squarely on his shoulders. I don't know what his ceiling is, but I'd love to see him reach it with us. He seems pretty solid. I was initially quite unhappy with the pick, but I've been warming to it with each new thing we see from or learn about him.

Only half joking but we should play him 45ish games and then shut him down and tell him his new job is being locked in a gym with a shooting coach until September 2026. CMB seems like the type where it will be apparent he will be very good at every aspect of the game except shooting. He’s sort of like the Thompson twins in that regard. Shooting is by far his biggest make or break skill to reach stardom because the rest of his game will be there. We should be doing everything we can to speed up his shooting development.

CMB with guard skills would be way better than Barnes, right? I'd see how things shake out in the off-season. RJ shouldn't be a guaranteed starter, but I get the politics of it all.

The best 3-and-D guy should start, and that could be CMB or Walter. CMB gives us more rim protection and solid defensive rotations. Barnes would be good on-ball defense too, and he's a decent option there.

Poeltl - CMB - Barnes - Ingram - IQ

That would let Ingram slide into more of a guard role, where it's less physical. It could save him some wear and tear too.

The big thing is, he's gotta be a better shooter than Agbaji, Walter, RJ, and Mogbo. That likely doesn't happen but it's nice to speculate.

He broke up 2 lay ups at the end to force the turnover, that's the most important part of the clip, man's is literally everywhere out there

CMB has a pretty clean form. Most lefties usually do. All the lefties I play against are knockdown shooters. I think he just needs the reps and the shooting will come around.

No idea how it works in basketball, but I find it super weird in baseball how every left handed batter loves the low inside pitch and it's like an auto pull towering homerun if they square it up. Some righties like it too, but it's damn near 100% of lefties and there's a saying in baseball "never throw it down and in to a lefty"

he looks like a rare 1.5 and 1.5 stock guy.....has enough size to grab 8-9 boards, and showing skills to drop 3-5 dimes.....it will already make him a very good player with that d and passing, its now just how much scoring does he have in him

Can really see the Draymond comps playing with a great shooter in Klay. Easy sympatico when considering his screening and playmaking ability. And his jumper/shooting form already looks smoother in those clips compared to SL so he's making rapid progress on things. The one constant is that he's always blowing up plays on the defensive end (The Detonator!) and that's his real standout super power so far. Lots to be excited about. Even if the jumper proves to be a WIP, at the very least he's working on it and isn't shy to let it fly.

Alas, I can already see this Scottie vs CMB thing developing because that's a dumb thing this board loves to do ever since Jose Vs TJ and I hope people can nip that inclination in the bud now. Comparisons are natural but not everything has to be unnecessarily adversarial and toxic but it's bound to happen again.

Scottie and CMB they do have a lot of similarities, but fundamentally they are different. You can see in the summer league games. CMB is an off ball guy and can set good picks, he is a roll man in the pick and roll like Yak. Scottie on the other hand likes to handle the ball. Offensively they operate very differently and can actually work together.

Imagine if CMB really developed the ability of catch and shoot in the long range. CMB set the pick for SB, SB drives in and attracts defenders, SB pass to open CMB and pop. This is something Yak can’t do.
