Warriors Looking For Unprotected First-Round Pick Plus 'Good Player' For Jonathan Kuminga

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Thu Jul 31, 2025 5:53 am

The Golden State Warriors are looking for a "good player" and an unprotected first-round pick in exchange for Jonathan Kuminga, according to Shams Charania of ESPN.

"The Warriors have been defiant. They want a good player, they also want an unprotected first-round pick, a good first round pick," said Charania.

Charania adds that the Kings have offered a conditional first-round pick and a rotation player for Kuminga, with the Warriors wanting the Kings to remove the protections from the pick.

With the Suns not having a first-round pick to trade, their offer would consist of 1-2 rotation players and second-round draft picks, according to Charania.

The Warriors are not looking to take on salary in return for Kuminga.

The Warriors are also shutting down sign-and-trade talks as of now and believe Kuminga will be on the roster to start the season, according to Anthony Slater.

Kuminga continues to decline the Warriors' two-year, $45 million offer.

Kuminga was a first round pick.
So they want a 1st pick and a good player for a player still to develop?

If they thought he was worth an unprotected first and a good player, why are they not paying him like someone who would command that in a trade?

Puff puff give. Puff puff give. You're messing up the rotation.

The Warriors realize that outside Kuminga they have no assets for after Curry. They are trying to get all they can. Desperation is a smelly cologne.

Who says no? - Kegan murry plus monk for kuminga - murry was bad last year but he might be okay moving forward if the warriors can unteach what he learned in sac

Why would gs want monk if they already have buddy and pods… also kuminga isn’t worth both of Murray and monk

They come across as entitled. Most teams with some sense should sign him next year .

golden state has no leverage in a trade hes not willing to sign with them so a team just has to wait 1 more season and sign him as a free agent golden state will have to wake up at the deadline if they want anything for him or else hell walk for nothing lol
