FWIW, O'Hearn has played 137 innings in the outfield so far this season. Kind of goes against what the Brewers do given he's not great in the field, but he could technically also be an option out there at times.

They seem to be OK rostering iffy corner OFs to have platoon bats available at certain points of postseason games (Canha, Winker, Bauers, etc.)

Of Brewers with atleast 100 PA this season, Isaac Collins leads the team in OPS+, just like we all predicted

On MLB's Pipeline pod they listed Cooper Pratt as one of the most likely top 100 prospects to be moved. Just for the sake of comparison, Baseball Trade Values has him listed as the #8 asset overall in the entire organization with a value of Mitch Keller or Jonathan Aranda.

I don't believe for a second that Milwaukee would shop him, but if he was traded he would have to bring back an absolute stud.

Since the end of last season Matt Arnold has

-Acquired Caleb Durbin for Devin Williams
-Traded for Quinn Priester
-Flipped Aaron Civale for Andrew Vaughn

The Dude is so good at his job. Whatever he does or doesnt do today I trust in him

The Cubs have a much easier schedule (27th or 28th hardest by some accounts) than the Brewers (~10th) the rest of the way. Both teams have 54 games in 59 days, with one double-header, starting tomorrow.

The Cubs have 3 rest days in August, before rosters expand, whereas the Brewers have just 2. Starting on August 15ht, the Brewers will play 19 games in 18 days. The Cubs have a more balanced mix of consecutive game days and rest days. However, the Brewers are in a better position to handle grueling stretches, thanks to their pitching. Long relievers like Hall, Myers, and Ashby are especially valuable to them right now.

Even with the remaining schedule, I think the Brewers are in a pretty good position to trade a pitcher like Quintana or Cortes. The market looks really good for teams with starters to trade right now.

It would have to be more for than a 2 month rental.

Some people way overvalue our prospects. An "absolute stud" is nonsense

Pratt is nice player, but hasn't shown anything outstanding yet to be considered non tradeable unless a stud.

My guess is Vaughn cools off over the next few weeks and the hope is Hoskins comes back healthy/hits well in the stretch run.

A "nice player" for 5-6 years is extremely valuable. I do understand that at times, various prospects within the organization get overhyped, but I would say we have almost a decade of evidence since Stearns took over that prospects are the lifeblood of this organization. And I think that emptying out that system for a 2 month rental does less for our chances of winning a title than continuously getting into the playoffs. One of these years we will break through.

(That said, if they go all-in on somebody, I'm not going to complain)

He's a consensus top 50 prospect. He'd have to bring back an All-Star caliber player.

Tons of various lists of "most likely to be traded" and I don't see Quintana and/or Cortes on any of them. Cortes is a wild card since he hasn't pitched for months but his rehab start was good. Maybe we are going to go to a 6 man rotation. August is brutal.

I think the other dynamic is who knows if Woody’s arm goes at any point, Quintana is older/been on IL already so may need all of these guys yet.

Is there anybody at AAA that is likely ready to help? I know guys like Patrick, Black, Myers, Yoho are there and already been up. Gasser I don’t feel will be in the bigs this year even though is rehabbing.

I’m guilty of falling in love with prospects but I don’t want to move Pratt, Pena or anybody in our top 5+. I assume Made is untouchable.
