This deal gives you an idea that the Jays won't pursue relievers who might be an upgrade, but whom they don't hold in high regard. They certainly could have beaten this acquisition cost.

Bieber's rehab is almost done, he can presumably be eased into the rotation after that.

He signed a one-year contract with a player option for 2026.
