When Dallas trades for Lebron there will be roster spots aplenty....

Probably shedding one roster spot and looking at future pick with expiring.
1) Dieng
2) Dieng + Joe
Dieng 6.7m expiring
Joe 3 years 36m total , descending contract

BOS get a very good young center, drop about 33 M USD from current payroll
JAZZ get a FRP and bigman depth
BRK eat salary this year, but create cap room for the next

Is Dieng even going to make the final roster for the Thunder this season? He's basically in Okeke territory.

Considering OKC had to give a 2nd rd pick to dump dillon jones, i dont see why they would get anything back for Dieng who is more exp and haven't shown much more in the league in 3 years

This. I like what they found in Leons this summer more than anything I've seen from Dieng in his career. They signed him to a make good training camp deal just yesterday. From the Jazz perspective, I hope that the Thunder keep Dieng and Leons shakes loose.

Dillon Jones showed badly last year (and I'm a Wiz fan who hopes he will become good). Couldn't shoot twos, couldn't shoot 3's, couldn't shoot FTs, and didn't really do that much otherwise. His splits are 38/25/61, that's bad. He was a rookie so he's young enough to turn it around of course.
Dieng has admittedly been equally bad and, as pointed out, for 3 years though at least he has size.
Isiah Joe, on the other hand, is an excellent shooter with 2 guard size though he didn't start showing out until his 3rd year.

He'll replace most of what they lost in NAW on the offensive end and I believe he's got the tools to be a better defender than he had shown amid the chaos in Utah. I like him better on a minimum deal than NAW (who I also like) at $15MM.

Agreed. Juzang has really only one offensive skill and that is to shoot the ball, which he has done at a high level since HS and college. He should be able to contribute as a shooter off the bench on a min deal. NBA comparison might be someone like Duncan Robinson.

So its 2025 and we have more in depth shooting data, and Duncan Robinson has some of the most valuable shooting seasons of all-time. It's not just his percentages but also how he can shoot coming off screens at full speed, has an instant release, not a corner specialist or catch and shoot specialist etc...
I know you mean well, but it really is important to realize there are levels to this and it goes well beyond just what percentage you shoot. For but one simple example look at the 3P% for Delon Wright his one year in Dallas -- 37% very solid. Davis Bertans over two partial seasons in Dallas shot 36% and 39% respectively. Or about the same. Yet I can assure you Bertans was creating infinitely more space because of how scared teams were of him because of his size, the fastest release in the world, his ability to shoot from well beyond the arc. etc... Wright would have wide open 3's in the corner and hesitate and teams just yawned.
Juzang may be a useful piece for the Wolves. I hope he is, but Robinson is not just a random shooter. There is a reason he has gotten the contracts he has. Robinson is much more like Kyle Korver than he is Juzang.

Agree with all of this, which is not to say that I dislike the Wolves adding Juzang as an end of the bench guy. There's certainly value to a guy who can reliably hit C&S 3s, especially one like Juzang with decent enough size to survive on the wing.
My favorite example of this: Draymond shot almost 40% from 3 in 23-24 (39.5%), but it wasn't like teams were suddenly sprinting over to close out on an open Draymond 3.
jayjaysee wrote:Any fun in Utah offering Chicago some first for a sign and trade of Giddey?
They have the Collins TPE - so Chicago wouldn’t have to take back salary and Giddey gets a deal like 4yr112.. or it can be flat/front loaded if that’s too much in your opinion..
You could play with salaries.. like Nurk+George+first for (one of Vuc/Collins/Huerter) and +Giddey, and be able to give Giddey like 32 first year and frontload the deal..
Imagine Utah should just stay committed to the tank for another year and keep their first.. But just a random bad idea..
