That's more than DeRozan costs -- and without the same flexibility -- but if Miami is (relatively?) high on Kuminga and think he fits with Miami's roster, why not take a (relatively) inexpensive flyer on a young guy who might flourish in Miami's system?
Obviously we can't just sign him because we don't have cap space. And what do we have that you'd give up for Kuminga that the Warriors would want?
The reports I've seen say that they want a 1st round pick + a good young player ... and they don't want to take back bad contracts.
The juice is not worth the squeeze IMO.

That's some wild ****. It's insane to go through all that trouble just to spend the next 20 years in prison. The list of potential suspects has to be tiny.

Fox doesn't deserve to be on this list.
Someone like sabonis should be on it instead.

What takes the heat beyond a 6th seed and first round exit?
Turning the Rozier and Wiggins 50M+ salary into a max level type player and talent. As Bammy said, Durant wouldve worked. LeBron would also work.
Are the Heat going to send picks and Ware and Wiggins to get LeBron? No way. He will have to want to come here next year and maybe S&T for Wiggins, if he even opts in.
Herro + Wiggins and picks for Giannis also works.
It's not really a secret, need an all-nba type level talent to take us from being a fringe playoff team to a title type team.
And for those calling Lowe crazy, I think hes "high" on the Heat because the east is in shambles just as much if not more for his fondness of this roster.

If all that happens is Norman Powell then this offseason is yet again a complete joke and I love the Norman Powell addition but this team needs more then just one addition after that absurd and embarrassing playoff debacle. We lost Jovic last year and immediately the team spiraled into oblivion because of the lack of proper depth and sensible roster construction. I'll be satisfied if they manage to flip Rozier for DeRozan or Vucevic but going into the year with Rozier on the roster clogging up 26.6 million of the cap because you just want to let him expire next year is wasting yet another year for whatever little cap space Rozier's contract expiring is going to garner once some of our players extension's kick in. And yes I'm down 100 percent to send off two second rd picks with Rozier if it makes this team better this year by adding someone realistic for that package like DeRozan. Let alone the deal would send us under the tax line avoiding repeater and leaving enough room to sign a vet big man like Achuiwa or whomever else is out there.

They had their chance but they overvalued the young guys, we’ll see if they were right or not.

Norman Powell was it.
It was already reported that Miami never made a serious offer for Durant, that they werent willing to part with any of their young guys.
All the moves or lack thereof this offseason has only stated the obvious to me - theyre trying to blow it up in 2026.
Theyre giving the core of Herro and Bam one last shot, to prove that they are players to build around and move forward with. If that duo does not make the push they expect, theyll have 60 million in expirings, potentially more if they move wiggins by the deadline. And Herro’s current deal is movable in the 2026 offseason.

Golden St can make its demands, but I also think they don't want a cancer in their locker room. It's hard to see a situation where Kuminga going back to Golden St works out, not only because of the contentious contract talks, but because Kuminga will likely be unhappy in whatever role he might play -- presumably off the bench.
I think Miami could offer either Rozier and Jaquez (or a 1st) or offer Wiggins and a protected swap. The former would need a 3rd team, possibly the Bulls (Vucevic), the Nets (Claxton), or Portland (R Williams) sending GS a center.

That was a fun entertaining team. Everyone knew that Michael Jordan had the NBA Championship on lock down at the time.
