Most attackers itl will be licking their lips looking at this team. Will get ran into the ground on counters, team has very little mettle or off the ball resilience.

No, I do not see a lack of balance.

Who do you have as the second 10? Last season, Szobo was the 10 while Mac Allister the 8.

Gravenberch, depending on who you ask, was either the best or second best DM in the league last season, yet you do not have a DM listed.

I understand why you put two RW with Frimpong, however, I refuse to believe he will be worse than TAA in defense. If you watched LFC, you would know just how poor the effort level was at times under TAA. Frimpong, at Bayer, gives everything.

Additionally, from what I have been reading, many are of the belief that slot will play a diamond (Wirtz at the base and Isak at the top) which allow both Kerkez and Frimpong to bomb forward and stay wide. Gravenberch then drops deeper becoming almost a third CB.

Lot of talk about Donnarumma leaving and PSG signing Chevalier from Lille, which is surprising Donnarumma was awesome in CL.

Not sure who are in charge of their recruitment, but Everton are having the best value for money summer window in the entire league

Reminds me of them sneakily signing Ndiaye last summer, one of the most underrated players in the PL.

Done well to extend Branthwaite as well.

Soft spot for Everton, think they fight for top half of the table again.

Gibbs-White signed a new contract at Forest. Whole situation is honestly bizarre, but whatever. Hope Spurs move on to other midfield targets and don't settle with just Kudus and Takai, plus the permanent signings of Tel and Danso this summer.

Despite how utterly crap we are, I still feel weirdly relaxed. The Europa League win and parade catharsis has lifted so much anxiety over Spurs in my life. If we don't sign anyone else, it will be slightly disappointing, but I won't be that bothered about it.

Wonder if ManU have it in them to grab Sesko and watch Newcastle lose yet another target while watching Isak walk out the door.

At the moment, Isak is apparently training alone at Real Sociedad.

And then there is this, though how much weight should be placed in a Bundesliga journalist, specifically FC Bayern, reporting on a potential transfer of a Swedish player between two English clubs.

Looks like Spurs are bringing Joao Palhinha on loan from Bayern, with an option.

For those that watch the Bundesliga more than I do, why did Palhinha struggle so much at Bayern? When he was at Fulham, he was quite highly touted and a lot of teams wanted to sign him. I think he would be a good signing for Spurs and addresses a clear position of need.

Fulham is more defensively oriented while Bayern plays an exceptional high line.
Based on the friendly today, I think Frank will look to make Spurs more solid on the defensive side of things, which shouldn't be hard considering the suicidal approach in the last two seasons.

Seems like an overly safe transfer.

Palhinha is a pure shin kicker that doesn't want to play football, just wants to fight.

Slightly better than Ugarte, slightly worse than Amadou Onana. Similar to Declan Rice.

Felt like you had enough of that in the midfield already with Bissouma and Bentancur. Just a loan + option though so very minimal risk.

I don't consider Bissouma and Lolo to be true destroyer types, they only really play that role by necessity, but I appreciate that can be subjective and up for debate.

Not even joking though, I actually like that archetype of player a lot. I love proper bastard DMs. Remember Victor Wanyama at Spurs? Absolute unit of a footballer, demolished everything before him. We just need a progressive press resistant central midfield player next to him ala Mousa Dembele, I'm hoping that Bergvall can grow into that role.

There was a footballer named Victor Wanyama who played for the Spurs?

Because most people know of Victor Wembanyama for the Spurs.

Yea Wanyama was a unit. Dude was composed of pure vibranium. Freak of nature shield for that backline and was decent on the ball. One of the few players I ever saw just shrug Kante aside like he was a little boy.

Palhinha could be a decent shield, I wonder who Frank is going to eventually gravitate to as his partner. Sarr maybe most likely with Maddison or Bergvall in front.

Archie Gray is a young phenom as well, really commendable how he held up at CB in his debut season in the league out of position. I know you suffered a lot last season, but he is a supertalent and will force his way into the 11 maybe not this season but in the near future.

WOWWWWWWW. English Kvara.

Would be a huge coup for Everton. They're acting so ambitious in this transfer window.

Tried for Diao, Fofana and Kubo as well, all three are low->medium level CL players with upside. Hope they can snag one incl Dibling.

LFC must have had some encouragement, otherwise, a bid would not have gone in. With that said, I cannot see this transfer happening unless Newcastle United find an adequate replacement.
