Must be some progress. Kuminga changed his mind and is playing AfroBasket for the Congo. Heck of a risk without a deal.

Yeah, it seems like the hang up is that the Warriors want the FRP to be unprotected and the Kings want lottery protection...seems like they should be able to find middle ground.
The Warriors holding out for it to be unprotected seems silly to me after the way they handled JK.
That's a horrible deal for us, just horrible.
It becomes more like monk and a protected first for kuminga and moody or hield because they need to be rerouted.
Monk is on a 3 year deal, 1 year longer than we'd like. Kings also can't find a single taker for monk, not even rozier. So, a pick will be needed to at least get off him. If the pick is for monks contract, then what's the return for kuminga? Now we need to trade moody or hield too? No thanks.

Warriors don't value JK yet they want an unprotected 1st from a lottery team lol

I mean the last thing I want in a Kuminga trade is losing Moody. Come on bro. That's just crap.

You rest my case.
Sounds like the Warriors would have been better off not extending a QO to JK and just let him become an UFA.

They're trying to showcase him in favorable conditions. Good luck with that.
I don't like the S&T for Monk, even if the 1st round pick was unprotected. The Warriors have to move either Hield or Moody for no returning salary, and it's going to require at least a 1st for some team to take them off their hands. The Warriors can't be seriously considering this.

The warriors would've been better off trading JK earlier when the kings were able to trade Dario or expand the Schroeder signing into a sign and trade to off load monk on detroit. We've waited so long that now it makes it even harder to trade JK.
Still think the best trade for us is
DC + Highsmith + 1st to us (top 8 protected in 26 and unprotected in 27)
DDR to Miami
JK + Rozier to sac
Monk + miami and sac throw in some 2nds to Utah

He was showcased in the playoffs. If avg 20 in the playoffs isn't good enough whatever he does in these Afrobasket games isn't going to move the needle.

Warriors not valuing him for this team doesn't mean they don't see value in him. I didn't think I'd need to state the obvious.

This might just be another way of him telling the Warriors he will play on the QO.

They must be pretty close to a deal. The whole 'toxic' narrative is, likely, just this board projecting.

Sam Amick was just interviewed on the radio and said that the Kings deal is just being held up by the FRP protection.

Did he mention if the Warriors are sending out Moody or Hield? Because if not, they're left with 10 players and about $6M under the hard-cap. If they send one of them out they avoid the hard-cap.

JK + moody or buddy for Monk and a pick? we'll get worse, almost certainly.

I wonder if there is a thought that once Sac gives in on the protections, the deal can be expanded with the pick being an attractive resource for a 3rd team?
