When you are preparing an offer of over 100hundred million dollars in guaranteed money and multiple high value draft picks, this is absolutely one of the things owners would think about.

If Micah were an offensive lineman or a safety or a kicker I would agree with you. We’re talking about arguably (not that arguable either) the best pass rusher in the NFL. Depending on who you ask that’s either the 2nd or 3rd most important position in football. I would bet that more than half the teams n the league would be more than willing to trade for Micah Parsons/

But it may not make sense for a team to pay a non QB over $40 million a year unless they're in the contention window for the SB.

So for instance, it's dumb that the Browns gave Garrett that huge extension, even though he's one of the best edge rushers in the league.

Without a franchise QB, they're not contending even for the playoffs.

If for instance Sanders or some other QB on a rookie contract hit and the team could get into the playoffs, then pay the non QBs big salaries until you have to pay the QB.

But a huge contract for non QBs on teams which aren't contenders is an irresponsible luxury.

That is for them to work out with Micah. If a team wants a chance to do that it will likely cost them 2-3 FRP’s.

I’m not in any way saying that no teams would be willing to trade for him.lol I’m just saying I wonder if some teams would be hesitant considering all the factors (huge contract, tons of assets in trade capital) which yes also includes the podcast. I’m assuming most teams won’t care and might even write certain things into his contract regarding the podcast and what he can or can’t say, but I do wonder if some will. And fwiw, I’d want him on my team, I never said otherwise.lol but some teams might think differently, that’s all.

There might be a couple teams that will say that. The vast majority would still make an offer though.

Will be interesting to see his version of events on his podcast after he’s traded and secures that contract

Can’t blame parsons. He needs to secure the bag as he has 3 years left and he’s cooked. Playing this season without a deal is suicide and is risking $70m

You’re right. It is an irresponsible luxury. But we know teams are dumb enough to do it as you stated with the browns.

And that’s all that really matters for trade value.

Tanner McKee and a conditional 6th round pick. Kinda feels like overpay to give the cowboys an amazing QB though so eagles probably say no.

Cowboys fans will descend on AT&T stadium with torches and pitch forks if they trade Parsons to the Eagles.

Honestly, it's absolutely nuts that Jerry let it get to this point.

All it would cost the Eagles is Jordan Mailata, Cooper DeJean, and 5 FRP’s.

Depends on what they get in return. Mailata, DeJean, and 5 FRP’s should get the deal done:

Return to The General NFL Board
