When you are preparing an offer of over 100hundred million dollars in guaranteed money and multiple high value draft picks, this is absolutely one of the things owners would think about.
If Micah were an offensive lineman or a safety or a kicker I would agree with you. We’re talking about arguably (not that arguable either) the best pass rusher in the NFL. Depending on who you ask that’s either the 2nd or 3rd most important position in football. I would bet that more than half the teams n the league would be more than willing to trade for Micah Parsons/
But it may not make sense for a team to pay a non QB over $40 million a year unless they're in the contention window for the SB.
So for instance, it's dumb that the Browns gave Garrett that huge extension, even though he's one of the best edge rushers in the league.
Without a franchise QB, they're not contending even for the playoffs.
If for instance Sanders or some other QB on a rookie contract hit and the team could get into the playoffs, then pay the non QBs big salaries until you have to pay the QB.
But a huge contract for non QBs on teams which aren't contenders is an irresponsible luxury.
That is for them to work out with Micah. If a team wants a chance to do that it will likely cost them 2-3 FRP’s.
