Cavs and Hawks
Cavs get: Jalen Johnson, Dyson Daniels, '26 first via Pels and '29 unprotected first
Hawks get: Donovan Mitchell
Why?
Cavs get better fitting pieces and some firsts.
Hawks get a superstar.

Re: Cavs and Hawks
I don't think this makes sense for the Hawks from a roster balancing standpoint, and is exceptionally expensive.
Trae / Mitchell?

Re: Cavs and Hawks
This makes the Hawks worse overall. Creates a hole at starting PF, major defensive issues in the back court, and moving two picks (one of which has the potential to be extremely good).

Re: Cavs and Hawks
If the Cavs were going to trade Garland or Mitchell this summer, they wouldn't have let Ty Jerome walk for $9M.

ATL is better with their guys than pairing Spida and Trae together

I can't see the Hawks considering this even without including the picks. I don't see Trae and Mitchell working much better than Trae and Murray did. Dyson really helped the teams defensive identity, and this would leave a huge hole at the 4.

I see you somehow managed to put the worst defender possible next to Mitchell.
Well at least we're not Detroit!

Re: Cavs and Hawks
Cavs should be thinking this is our best year to get out of the East and to do that, we need our proven playoff killer Donovan Mitchell. I wouldn't even consider this as them.

Mitchell is way better than Murray and way more comfortable off-ball. It would work much better than Murray.
But probably not better than just standing pat.

Better player doesn't equate to significant improvement incoming. Especially when you're talking about creating holes and messing up the overall fit of the team. If the Hawks are moving these kind of players, then it needs to be for a Giannis at least, and I really wouldn't pony up the extra assets to make that happen either.

I agree with you. Just saying the Mitchell/Murray comp was pretty bad.

I assume you mean the 26 first. Anyway, it doesn't make sense for the Hawks given their direction, timeline, etc. Daniels has become very overrated, and while I think JJ was the best Hawk last year before he got hurt, but he's not Mitchell good. If it was another team, I could see it (provided you could put top 5 protection on the Pels pick).

He might be better than murray offensively and can play offball. But putting a 6'3 SG next to a 6'1 PG both with below avg defense and giving away 2 of your best defenders on the team is just crazy work.
If im giving up that package im going for someone better than murray as my pairing next to trae. Those combo of players better be the start of a Giannis trade or something lol.

I'd do it from Cavs end, but can't see ATL giving that up to pair up Mitchell and Trae...

Man you want your team to trade Spida more than I want mine to trade AD
