Post play will never go away entirely. There will always be players who can use it effectively at various volumes.

But it’s never going to be the main course again, at least not for the foreseeable future.

Yep. It's made a bit of a comeback in recent years, but that's relative -- there were still only ten players who efficiently averaged at least 3 PPG in the post last season, and only Jokic and Embiid managed 5+ (Jokic led the league with 6.4).

And neither Jokic nor Embiid would be nearly as important if they weren’t offensively valuable in a myriad of other ways.

It’s why Shaq dislikes most modern elite bigs- none of them play like he did.

Yep, the Pistons are currently at 13 standard NBA contracts against a regular season maximum of 15 and minimum of 14. They'll need to be compliant by the close of the day on October 20th.

Jenkins is still a two-way RFA, so the Pistons have a two-way slot open as well.

Edit: Jenkins re-signed earlier this morning on a two-way deal, so all three slots are full at the moment. That could, of course, change at any time -- two-way players may be released at any time without any cap consequences.
