JT's pissed.

I heard he said he's not going out like that, referring to being in agony.

I hope JT learned his lesson and will lessen the bad shots he takes.

A more efficient JT will be key to getting that 2nd chip in the era of the Jays.

It'd be stupid of him to come back in March. There is no need to risk further injury.
We got bounced in the 2nd round with a healthy Tatum for most of the series and we had a better roster than we do so far this year.
Tatum actually was a big reason why we lost games 1 and 2 to the Knicks.

Brad is trying to rebuild for the following season. Tatum coming back in March serves this team no purpose.

An exhausted roster though. I said they look tired from the beginning of the season and multiple times after it. No one played up to par last season. Okay, I’ll give you Pritch, he was an anomaly. He was that dude in the regular season!

Do I believe we’ll win the chip if the roster remains the same? Well my hopes and dreams blinding, so yeah, I’ll believe til we don’t. Would I bet good money? No. With that said, we’ve made it conference finals with less!

The East isn’t stacked, not going to be easy, but don’t count us it.

I don’t get it he’s going to learn his lesson that he got hurt after playing one million high intensity minutes by taking more shots that demand more intense exertion?

What I mean is one major injury could ruin your career.

JT got cocky, especially in Game 1 against NY.

What JT needs is that "Mamba Mentality" that Kobe talked about.

You're not wrong, but knowing JT's tendencies over the years, if the doctors clear him, he will play.

A good compromise would be basing it on the Celtic record after All-Star.

If Cs are in the #3 to #6 range, JT should return for a playoff push.

But if the Cs are just a play-in level team, no need for JT to return.

Why is Tillman still in this Team?
Zero minutes played, now he’s expected to play next fall?

Only makes sense to bring him back if it’s for a couple of games to get back into a rhythm early and start building hopefully towards his same old self.

Then the next season ideally he’s playing pretty good ball from game 1.

There is nothing to be gained from bringing him back on some mediocre playoff team that could get bounced in round 1.

we should start planning like JT is going to return around the ASB, regardless of record. because if JT is cleared, nobody will be able to stop him from playing.

so 1st half is development, hopefully grow some assets, make a trade at the deadline to shore up weak spots (frontcourt).

Neemi/trade
Tatum
Brown
White
Simons

tbh that is a potential ECF team if fully healthy, especially if Neemi steps up.

Yeah..but if we sign him we're back over the 2nd apron.

So I think we would maybe sign either Bassey or Simmons but probably only happens if we're able to dump Tillman on some team via trade first..

Celtics have all year to get below the 2nd apron, a few hundred thousand dollars means nothing

Spotrac has the Celts $1,938,785 under the 2nd apron. IMO, I think we should offer Bassey to a 4-year deal starting at 1,900,000 (keeping us under the 2nd apron) with team options for year 3 and 4. If we need to make a trade, we have all season to do it. Bassey fills a need at the 5 and is still just 24 years old. This plays right into the range of working with Tatum and Brown and all the rest of the young guys. Bassey is so much better than Tillman at this point.

I think the minimum salary for Bassey is $2,378,870.

1) I think that we'd have to cut Walsh?
His Salary is only Guaranteed for $200K.

2) Simons and Niang are the bigger Contracts, though.

3) Just Sign Bassey, going over the limit, and figure it out before the Season Starts.

Easier said than done. It's not that easy. You can't just poof, snap your fingers and get under the 2nd apron later on during the season.

I doubt we go back over the 2nd apron for Charles Bassey, a guy who has been a FA for the entire offseason and all 30 NBA teams have decided against offering him a contract.

It's not like we're a contender and he is some amazing player who would put us over the top to win a title.

We're not contenders this year. It's a bridge year. I don't see the point in signing some random big who no other team even wants to put us over the 2nd apron.

Plus, staying under the 2nd apron means we have more flexibility for making roster moves. If we sign Bassey and wait to get back under the 2nd apron until like January, well then we're losing all of that flexibility and ability to make those other types of moves that entire time from now until January.

For what? For Charles Bassey? He's not some superstar and we're not contenders this season so what's the point?

If we are able to free up some $ / roster spot somehow, sure I'm fine with signing him. But I also wouldn't go crazy trying to jump through hoops to sign Charles Bassey.

No other NBA team has even been rumored to be interested in him. There isn't even any reported interest the Celtics have him him - just rumors that Bassey would like to sign here.

There's been some rumors involving Bassey signing with Partizan in Europe, a few other European teams showing interest.

The minimum for a vet with 4 yrs of NBA experience is $2.4 mil though..
