I think this is the reason they focused on pitching with a side of defense at the deadline. For the last 80+ games, they have been the best offense in all of baseball. Most of that was done on the backs of the “role players” and rookies early on, but as you have pointed out, the big boys are starting to hit that extra gear.

Now, unfortunately,Springer and Kirk both ended up getting hurt. But luckily neither is long term, and they just got Varsho back (…who was hitting HRs pretty regularly in his rehab stint.) Barger looks like a potential future all-star. Lukes is playing great. Loperfido looks like a new hitter and is slugging like .580 ffs over 20 games. So when Springer and Kirk get back, they will have a very balanced attack from both sides. Unless they were getting a stud somewhere… they didn’t really need another bat.

I would’ve at least added one more PROVEN bat… you can never have too much offense

Way outside. 1 missed ball/strike call just cost us 2outs.

They’re banking on Vlad not striking out which he rarely does

Likely wishful thinking - but maybe there’s an outside chance Bieber is starting against the Dodgers next weekend

Max and Bieber vs the Dodgers would be something!

Closer than I thought. But still a ball. And even more obvious in real time.
