I’m not saying this is even a GOOD team but I’m not understanding a bottom east team .

I'll definitely be watching Hornets games this season.

I think Lee is on to something there and the FO seems to trust him.

Cleveland
Orlando
New York
These teams I can confidently concede are definitely better than us.

Atlanta
Detroit
Miami
These teams have better all-around depth than the Celtics but I'm not convinced that any of these teams have a better 1-2 than Brown and White. I would put us in this tier, maybe at the lower end.

Milwaukee - Outside of Giannis and maybe Turner, it's just a trash roster.
Philly - Embiid's health will always be a huge swing factor.

Yeah, with a relatively healthy season from White and Brown, I'd put us around 6-8 seed. We can't discount the "winning" culture that the Celtics have as a factor. If we somehow manage to grab a decent center before the season starts, that would raise our ceiling a little bit.

I agree with your rankings here -- especially with ORL over NY :)
So much depends on health, obviously, but if we've already had our horrible injury misfortune, I see us landing at 6th.
Two other things:
1. I want Tatum to do all the right things to rehab, including taking this year off
2. If we end up in the lottery I'm totally happy with that too (as long as there's no additional/new injury effects lasting beyond this season)

So a can't win/can't lose season -- sounds like a 6th seed to me at this point

This season has 96-97 Spurs written all over it. Tatum will not play this season, they have lost 4 major pieces from last years team without attempting to replace them, and the only all star caliber player active on the roster misses around 25 games every season. I think Brad will let them try to win games to start the season but as it goes on and they continue to fall in the standings they will ramp up the tank. They cant win without Tatum and in order to retool for another run they need a valuable pick to use for a trade or to draft an impact player. i expect them to lose 50 games this season.

If Hauser starts, championship or bust.

Brad eventually needs to find a big starting guard like Jrue or Luguentz Dort to pair with White.
The championship year, White and Jrue were the best Celtics backcourt since DJ and Ainge. They were the main reason we won and the importance of Al without KP out. Of course Tatum and Brown did their thing.
