He is key to what we r building

What exactly does WC do well?

Hes undersized, isnt much of a rim protector, doesnt offer much on offense especially after his 3pt stopped falling this year and the one thing i though he would do well, rebounding, he doesnt even do that well. Even on a team with no quality rebounders he couldnt lead the team in rebound. Im sorry but when you have a team that cant rebound and your center only averages 7rbg, you need an upgrade

So i ask, explain it to me, what does exactly does WC do at an above average level

Switchability on the perimeter and floor spacing, perfect fit next to P5 + Franz and Bane

In an ideal world he's the perfect fit with this team. Issue is he shot 23% from 3 last year. If he just gets back to his norm 32% we are good. His previous 2 years were so nice to have but I think he's prob around 31-33% realistically. He was SO bad from 3 last year. Mentally he seems to be on the weaker side. Injuries have plagued him some years. I like him and root for him. I thought Boston he turned it on in the playoffs and did exactly what we needed. 10pts 11reb and great switch ability on the defensive end. He was nasty some games. When hes locked in and confident he is great for us. Hoping we see that version of him.

In his defense Most of our main guys struggled to shoot the ball. 32% would be nice being one of the main factors attributing to his fit. Switchability is nice rim protection is not, but for this team I’ve come around to him.

I've got to give some benefit of the doubt to our guys who have shot the 3 better in the past...Everyone (except Caleb Houstan :banghead: ) didn't just forget how to shoot a basketball last September.

ORL added:
- 2 proven NBA 40% 3pt shooters
- a rookie with a history of efficient shooting
- a TRUE (the NBA's truest?) PG to efficiently orchestrate the 2nd Unit...and put scorers in position to succeed
- a PROVEN offensive-minded lead assistant
- a healthy Suggs (who has shot close to 40% on high volume) a season before the team's shooting collapsed
- a slimmed-down, not "running in mud", non-exhausted Isaac, who has made 3's at an acceptable % in the past
- AB, gaining another year of confidence, has shown he can make 3's
- I just can't accept that Franz is a BAD 3pt shooter - I remember TRoss raving about his shooting in preseason workouts. It can be fixed.

All of these won't pan out - but my point is that there are a LOT of variables that we have very realistic reasons to be confident about. As far as 3pt shooting last season - it couldn't have gone much worse. So it should revert to the mean - even without all of the moves made to goose it to even higher levels. I've traded WCJ dozens of times on here...but I'd be willing to bet his shooting numbers get better in the upcoming season. We won't really be reliant on him to score, so he can be more selective and efficient in his perimeter shooting. Center remains the biggest question mark in the starting lineup - but that's only because Weltman has now built a very formidable starting lineup (and bench). It's only on paper for now, but everything does appear to add up.

There's nothing wrong with his rim protection. He just doesn't get the block stats... but players shoot lower percentages within 6ft when he's there. He trailed only JI (51.9%) and TDS (55.6%), with a 56% DFG%. Better than Goga's 60.9%. And he's shooting 63.7% at the rim.... third behind Moe Wagner (64.3%) and Goga (64.2%)....and in my opinion, he could have finished better within 6ft. The shooting bug that affected most players definitely did a number on him, but I see no reason he can't bounce back and give good production once again.

Germany will play Luka's Slovenia on Friday in a Eurobasket warmup game. On the Courtside1891 streaming service ...

Goga's Georgia play tomorrow and Weds but I believe the games are behind closed doors.

The bar is set: Win the East!

From Banchero:

"I'm just looking forward to competing at a high level. Going to hopefully take the East. Get around this new team, this new energy, these new vibes."

Doesn’t go super deep but it was a good listen. I don't think this team goes anywhere if Paolo do not increase his efficiency.

We can’t talk about Paolo increasing his efficiency without bringing up Joe Prunty. Prunty is about to have the easiest job ( stat wise ) in the NBA improving this team by knowing how to unlock Paolo and Franz and implementing a system that allows them to be great together. Prunty isn’t just some dude, he brings with him 3 NBA Champions’s and loads of experience

If by "behind close doors" does it mean no video at all? OR just no fans/spectators but cameras allowed

We stay healthy and Bane and Tyus bring their games I’m not worried about it.

Problem is a lot of Paolos inefficiency got to do with him being a bad/mefiocre finisher. A system that gets him easier shots gonna help but if he doesn't improve his finishing he will always have trouble to be efficient no matter the system.

I wish. Sub-based service. You need to first register to go in and see how much the sub is to watch the tournament, which I haven't done.

Germany's knockout games will be on state channel RTL but not warmups or group games.
