Yankees bullpen blows it again - Rangers win 8-5.
I suppose if the Yankees had won, we had widened our lead on the final playoff spot to 8 games over the Rangers (instead of 7), but its probably best for us for the Yankees to lose.

Ty France now has more hits with the Blue Jays than Paul DeJong.
To be honest I have no clue how many hits DeJong had with us in 2023, but it couldn't be much.

Did some fan in the background just call Heineman a gay slur?

Need to cash these runs for the run differential.

Bad luck for the run differential that it bounced over the fence. Back to +30 though if we can finish the job, that’s somewhat respectable again.

Varsho has great defensive outfield strategy too, what a player

All good, I'd rather face Boston in the playoffs over the Yankees anyday. Yankees have a gamechanger in Judge, a decent rotation and a bullpen full of big names. They only need a few players to get hot to be tough to beat in the playoffs. Red Sox don't nearly have the same depth. They're on the same hot stretch that we went on in July, but I expect them to come down to earth soon too.

At some point Boston is going to cool down. I don’t think they have the talent to be a 90 win team
Just need to hold the fort and maintain a lead on the Red Sox till they cool down. Then add separation

He just looks like he has the tools to be a silver slugger. Already showing high contact skills and decent power, by next year I think an .800 ops year like Barger this year wouldn’t surprise me at all

Same on all three. Wagner was quite a let down. :')

Loper has been solid. Less strikeouts this year and been quick in the outfield.

Loperfido has clearly improved and becomes interesting for next season, but the hype should be turned down a notch. He still chases a lot and whiffs a lot, so the approach still needs work and may fall apart once his BABIP normalizes. Right now he is obviously on one of those runs where he is hitting a high amount of line-drives and they are seemingly all falling for hits, but there is regression to be expected here (his wOBA is nearly a hundred points higher than his xwOBA).
